We is seeking a highly motivated attorney to serve as Corporate Counsel. This role will report to the General Counsel and be tasked with driving forward  the commercial and corporate functions on the legal team. The Corporate Counsel will own the cross-functional relationships with the business development and partnerships team, and will also assist the legal team with other general matters common to in-house support (e.g. HR, IP and regulatory).

What are the role responsibilities?

  • Provide practical commercial support to our business development and partnership teams (including working on complex agreements and templatizing repeat agreements), working collaboratively and building a strong line of communication with stakeholders across the organization.

  • Provide thoughtful, timely and practical legal advice to internal partners on various matters, with a focus on commercial and corporate law.

  • Provide prompt, actionable advice to our People team related to hiring, employment, and non-cash compensation.

  • Manage the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including working on trademark, copyright, and licensing matters.

  • Look around corners and creatively solve problems for the business as it plans, builds, and executes its transactional and product roadmap.

  • Be a business partner, not just an attorney.

What skills do you bring?

  • Current license in a U.S. state or international jurisdiction with JD or applicable equivalent, with three or more years of relevant transactional experience at a leading law firm, or comparable in house practice.

  • Experience structuring complex transactions and negotiating and drafting commercial agreements with strategic partners.

  • Excellent judgment, analytic rigor, and business pragmatism.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.

  • Startup / tech experience either as a client or in house.

What will you like about us?

  • We take care of our employees. Competitive compensation, fully paid medical, dental, and vision, and a 4% 401K match—learn more about our benefits, culture, and all recruiting FAQ here.

  • We take pride in the accomplishments of our teammates and support each other in doing the best work of our careers.

  • Our team is a diverse group of people from varied backgrounds. We cherish our eclecticism and consider it a great strength.

  • We’re fully remote, deeply engaged, highly skilled, and like to have fun.

  • We think long-term. Our founders have been scaling Ethereum since 2015.
