Job Description:

The Corporate Development Office Consultant II is an integral member of the Corporate Development Office team and will work with the Corporate Development Office Vice President and Principals to drive Intermountain Healthcare’s major transactions (i.e., mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships) through three core phases– deal identification, evaluation/negotiation, and execution – and transitions successful transactions to the Integration Management Office.

Scope

  • This position reports to the Corporate Development Office Vice President.
  • This position is responsible for working with cross-functional teams and external consultants on a variety of potential transactions. 
  • The Corporate Development Office Consultant will report directly to the Corporate Development Office Vice President, but will be supervised by a Corporate Development Office Principal 
  • This position is responsible for supporting multiple transactions at any given time and/or leading due diligence efforts on transactions.

Essential Job Duties

  • Supports Intermountain Healthcare’s growth strategy through major transaction development and management, including identification, evaluation, and execution of potential mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships
  • Helps to develop and regularly update assessments of growth markets (including key players, competitors, considerations, opportunities)
  • Helps to respond to request for proposals (RFPs) and develops presentations for potential partners and transaction targets
  • Conducts research on potential partners and stays abreast of industry trends and issues; provides regular updates to leaders through market and research reports and the National Issues and Trends document
  • Coordinates scheduling critical calls and meetings with internal functional leaders
  • Creates agendas, takes meeting notes, and distributes follow-up action items for each call or meeting
  • Assists Corporate Development Office Principal(s) in:
    • Coordinating cross-functional due diligence efforts with Intermountain shared services leaders, external counsel, external consultants and other subject matter experts
    • Creating materials and communications to regularly update Transaction Steering Committee and/or Executive Leadership Team members of transaction progress, key decisions, and risks/issues escalation
    • Developing tools and templates for use in identifying, evaluating, and executing mergers and acquisitions to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Depending on experience, leads the coordination of due diligence efforts on transactions
  • Manages data room documentation and review, including management of vendor relationship
  • Helps coordinate, and on occasion manage, due diligence providers such as environmental impact and quality consultants
  • Helps produce and distribute the Corporate Development weekly growth transactions update to key leaders and stakeholders within the organization
  • Carries out other ad-hoc duties, responsibilities, or project responsibility as assigned by the Corporate Development Office Vice President

Minimum Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree and demonstrated experience in a corporate development role and at least two years of relevant transaction experience. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
  • Experience working as part of a team on complex transaction coordination processes that involve multiple cross-functional leaders and both internal and external subject matter experts to drive towards optimal performance and targeted results.
  • Experience in healthcare services is preferred, in addition to investment banking or consulting experience.

With this position, you are eligible to participate in the Annual Pay for Performance (AP4P) Plan. This plan enables Intermountain Health to provide leaders with an additional performance compensation opportunity. The AP4P award opportunities are calculated as a percentage of your base salary. Awards are paid out based on attainment of selected Board-approved goals.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$57.75 - $89.14
