Business Unit Overview:
The Life Advanced Competitive Solutions team within Product Solutions supports New York Life's strategic efforts to compete and win in the life insurance marketplace. The team provides deep product expertise, competitive intelligence, and strategic insights that enhance field effectiveness and inform broader business decisions. As a critical partner to multiple stakeholders across the enterprise, the team delivers high-impact case support, competitive positioning, and industry trend analysis.
Role Overview:
As a Corporate Vice President, Life Competitive Solutions Analyst, you will serve as a senior subject-matter expert focused on complex competitive case support, strategic market assessment, and the development of high-value materials that strengthen New York Life's competitive position. You will work across product, distribution, and leadership teams to identify emerging opportunities, refine positioning strategies, and develop training resources that elevate the organization's competitive awareness and capabilities.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead complex and high-visibility competitive case analyses, providing advanced insights, modeling, and strategic positioning guidance for New York Life's field force and distribution partners.
  • Identify emerging market trends, competitor strategies, and product shifts, synthesizing insights into actionable recommendations for internal stakeholders.
  • Develop agent-facing and leadership-level training materials, presentations, and competitive playbooks that enhance field knowledge and increase NYL win rates.
  • Partner closely with Product Development, Product Management, Advanced Markets, Distribution leadership, and Competitive Intelligence teams to align insights and support strategic initiatives.
  • Support the refinement of New York Life's competitive strategy by translating sophisticated analyses into accessible, high-impact messaging and frameworks.
  • Act as an internal expert on life insurance product mechanics, competitive dynamics, and marketplace evolution.

What You'll Bring:
  • Deep expertise in individual life insurance products and competitive positioning strategies.
  • Ability to interpret industry, regulatory, and competitor trends and translate them into impactful strategy, training, and messaging.
  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to senior leaders, advisors, and field partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-visibility cases with minimal guidance.
  • Strong analytical thinking, with a track record of synthesizing insights across multiple sources to form clear viewpoints.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across product, distribution, and corporate teams.

Preferred Skills:
  • 8+ years of experience in life insurance competitive intelligence, product management, distribution support, or related functions.
  • Experience developing training content or field-facing educational materials.
  • FINRA Series 6 (or willingness to obtain).
  • Familiarity with New York Life's distribution model and sales processes within both Agency and Third Party.

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $119,000-$170,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
Please note: This role requires FINRA licensed and/or FINRA Associated Person pre-hire fingerprinting.
