Role Overview:
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the direction of Retail Annuities by leading market research and insights efforts. The candidate will be responsible for building the fact base that informs product, distribution, and experience strategies, serving as the primary source of insights for senior leadership.
In addition to defining and prioritizing the research and insights agenda, the candidate will play a supporting role across other strategy functions including cross-functional initiatives, planning, governance, reporting, and executive-level communications. This includes helping connect research insights to strategic priorities, contributing to business analysis, and ensuring leadership materials clearly reflect market and business dynamics.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled at gathering and synthesizing insights from advisors, stakeholders, and third-party research, and translating those into clear, actionable strategies. This role is well-suited for a professional eager to make market research and competitive intelligence their core responsibility while supporting initiatives, and leadership communications (as needed) in a growing, high-impact business.
What You'll Do:
Market Research and Insights (Primary Role)
  • Lead the development and execution of Retail Annuities market research and insights agenda
  • Design, manage, and execute primary and secondary research, including advisor interviews, stakeholder conversations, surveys, and studies
  • Partner with external research firms and internal subject-matter experts to deliver high-quality qualitative and quantitative insights
  • Serve as the voice of the customer, ensuring findings directly shape product, distribution, and experience strategies
  • Deliver clear, data-driven recommendations that influence decisions and long-term strategy
  • Monitor competitor activity, product innovations, regulatory shifts, and market trends to identify risks and opportunities
  • Establish a central repository of research and insights that accelerates cross-team decision-making, and act as the primary point of contact within Retail Annuities for market insights

Additional Responsibilities (Supporting Role)
  • Support execution of cross-functional initiatives by coordinating stakeholders and tracking milestones
  • Develop executive-level presentations and briefing materials that reflect research-driven strategic narratives
  • Contribute to governance reporting by synthesizing progress, risks, and opportunities for senior leaders

What You'll Bring:
  • Education - Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience
  • 4+ years of relevant experience leading or supporting qualitative and quantitative research (designing surveys, conducting interviews/focus groups, analyzing data, working with external research partners)
  • Proven ability to translate complex research findings into actionable insights that inform strategy
  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking - Strong ability to connect research findings and market intelligence to business objectives and broader industry dynamics
  • Communication - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience creating executive-level presentations that synthesize and clearly convey complex insights
  • Program/Project Support - Familiarity with supporting cross-functional initiatives and governance processes
  • Detail Orientation & Agility - Strong attention to detail with ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Tools - Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel required

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $160,000-$205,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
