Job Description

Serves as a lead writer and brand voice steward, helping shape and elevate the U.S. Bank brand through strategic storytelling, integrated campaigns, and social-first content. Responsible for leading and collaborating with creative leaders, marketing teams, content creators, designers and external agencies to bring brand strategy to life across digital, social, video, and emerging channels, user experience [MJ1] and digital platforms. Develops content that aligns to customer needs, business objectives, and brand voice while creating compelling content that drives engagement and supports key initiatives. Provides guidance and consultation to stakeholders, and ensures consistency in messaging across channels. Evaluates and improves content development processes, leveraging audience insights, AI-enabled tools, and emerging technologies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and creative impact. Requires exceptional writing and editing skills, strong social and digital content instincts, and the ability to create content that resonates with modern audiences while advancing business and brand objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead copywriter and brand voice steward for U.S. Bank, ensuring consistency, quality, and clarity across customer touchpoints.

  • Evolve the brand voice to feel modern, sophisticated, culturally connected, and unmistakably U.S. Bank while maintaining trust and credibility.

  • Translate complex business strategies into clear, motivating, and on-brand messaging.

  • Lead the development of creative concepts, campaign narratives, messaging platforms, and integrated campaign ideas across digital, social, video, experiential, and traditional media.

  • Lead the development of social-first creative, including concepts, scripts, campaigns, and content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.

  • Partner with creators, designers, editors, and social teams to produce platform-native content that is culturally relevant, on-brand, and engaging.

  • Present creative concepts and strategic rationale with confidence and clarity to executive leadership, including senior and C-suite stakeholders.

  • Manage, mentor, and develop writers, fostering a culture of curiosity, craft, creativity, accountability, and excellence.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline creative processes and reduce manual effort while maintaining high standards of creative excellence.

  • Foster a culture of experimentation that balances efficiency gains with strong editorial judgment, strategic thinking, and brand stewardship.

  • Stay connected to contemporary culture, consumer behavior, social trends, and emerging storytelling formats.

  • Champion a collaborative, enthusiastic, and solutions-oriented approach to creative leadership.
     

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Exceptional writing, editing, concepting, and storytelling skills with a strong portfolio of integrated campaign work.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, evolve, and maintain a distinctive brand voice across channels.

  • Experience leading creative development across integrated campaigns, social media, digital marketing, advertising, and content ecosystems.

  • Demonstrated experience developing creative work for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube

  • Strong understanding of social-first storytelling, creator-led content, and platform-native content development.

  • Experience presenting and selling creative work to senior executives, business stakeholders, and cross-functional partners.

  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire creative talent.

  • Ability to translate complex or regulated subject matter into clear, human, motivating copy.

  • Portfolio must include examples of social content, integrated campaigns, and brand storytelling.
     

Additional:

  • Experience in financial services, fintech, or another highly regulated industry.

  • Experience across both agency and in-house creative environments.

  • Experience creating or overseeing short-form video content and creator partnerships.

  • Experience leveraging AI and emerging creative technologies to improve productivity, content creation, and workflow efficiency.

  • Deep understanding of contemporary culture, consumer behavior, and modern brand storytelling.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Typically, eight or more years of content strategy or related experience

Location Expectations:

This role is hybrid. Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at the listed U.S. Bank location(s), while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $132,260.00 - $155,600.00
