We're seeking an experienced, innovative design leader to shape and elevate our visual identity across all brand touchpoints. This pivotal role will set the creative strategy for the organization and serve as the lead designer for some of our highest-visibility initiatives, including Beyond4 (our flagship customer conference) and the corporate website. You'll combine strategic vision with hands-on design excellence, working alongside internal teams and external partners to ensure Olo shows up with impact and consistency in the marketplace.
You can work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. or at Olo’s headquarters in NYC.
What You'll Do
- Set and drive the overall design strategy for Olo's Marketing organization, establishing creative vision and priorities aligned with business objectives
- Provide strategic design direction across the Marketing team, influencing how Olo presents itself to customers, prospects, and the market
- Mentor and support one designer on your team, and collaborate with them to set a strategic direction for their own projects
- Lead the evolution of Olo's visual identity standards, ensuring our brand remains modern, differentiated, and resonant with our audiences
- Champion and enforce brand guidelines and a comprehensive design language system across the organization and agency partners, serving as the final authority on visual consistency and quality
- Serve as the hands-on design lead for many of Olo's most critical and visible projects, including Beyond4 (our annual customer conference) and the company website
- Collaborate with stakeholders to scope projects, determine priorities, and set realistic timelines
- Establish project management best practices for the creative team and workflows to ensure timely, high-quality delivery
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in design processes, staying current with industry trends and best practices
- Manage the team's design tools, software licenses, and vendor relationships
- Oversee and optimize the creative budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
- Negotiate and manage contracts with design agencies, freelancers, and other creative vendors
What We'll Expect From You
- 8+ years of proven experience in design roles with demonstrated progression into strategic leadership
- 2+ years as a people manager
- Collaborative leadership style that elevates team capabilities while driving results
- Strong portfolio showcasing strategic thinking alongside execution across diverse platforms (digital, events, web, slideware, etc.)
- Experience in the B2B SaaS, technology, or restaurant industry preferred
- Proven track record managing budgets, vendor relationships, and team operations
- Proficiency and flexibility to design or manage in tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Google Slides, HubSpot, CMS,
- Brandfolder, Project Management Tools (such as Asana, Optimizely, etc.)
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma, with a mastery of Auto Layout, complex component architecture (variants, properties), and the ability to scale and maintain design systems.
- Deep understanding of design principles and how they manifest in support of marketing and business goals
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strong organizational skills and ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Track record of producing tangible results through inspiring design
