The Credit Controller Vice President is a strategic professional who closely follows the latest credit-related trends and adapts them for application within the Controllers organization and their own job. Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain central oversight of the financial and accounting processes within the Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) framework
  • Ensure the integrity of CECL-related data, from model results to ledger entries, by implementing critical reconciliations, managing credit loss activity, and substantiating all related accounts to guarantee accurate financial and regulatory reporting while strengthening our internal control environment over a complex process
  • Manage and monitor the quarterly financial close process, including posting journal entries as needed
  • Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen controls
  • Comply with relevant policies and procedures, including ongoing maintenance of all documentation
  • Act as trusted advisor to key stakeholders across the Finance and Risk organizations
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience, in banking or financial services preferred
  • Strong knowledge of technical accounting, with credit reserve experience preferred, data analysis, and financial reporting
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with a strong controls mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and diplomacy skills to influence others
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
