Job Description:

Operates Computed Tomography (CT) equipment, prepares for examination, and ensures proper information is obtained for Physician to make a diagnosis.


Job Responsibility:

1.Administers routine/emergency CT procedures and special procedures.
2.Produces high quality images with minimum stress and exposure to patient, by dealing tactfully and cooperatively with patients and general public.
3.Provides information and explanation to patient in regard to examination.
4.Checks patient identification in order to ensure proper administration of CT scans.
5.Processes, develops and reformates images as required. Networks images to PACS.
6.Performs clerical and technical duties including, but not limited to, maintaining logs, posting charges, and computer data entry.
7.Assists in the orientation and training of new Technologists.
8.Performs related duties, as required.


Job Qualification:

  1. Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program, required.
  2. New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, required.
  3. Certification in IV Contrast Administration, required.
  4. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Technologist (RT), required.
  5. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Computed Tomography (CT), required within eighteen (18) months of entry date into position.
  6. Basic Cardiac Life Support certification, required.
  7. Minimum of six (6) months Radiology Technologist experience,  required. Prior CT experience, preferred.
