About Our Company

Built on over four decades of pioneering research at Princeton University, our platform represents the leading edge of innovation in freight and transportation planning. We help customers unlock double-digit revenue gains and drive smarter, data-driven operations at scale.
With the recent close of our Series C funding round led by Koch Disruptive Technologies, we’re entering an exciting new phase of growth. Today, Optimal Dynamics is a high-growth company of ~70 employees, backed by top-tier investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, The Westly Group, Activate Capital, and Koch.

We're on a mission to redefine the way logistics decisions are made—and we’re just getting started.

About Our Team

We are a team of bright, kind, and solution-oriented people focused on creating value for our customers. We can solve problems individually, but understand that the best solutions are found when the team brainstorms ideas together. We are excited about balancing the need to deploy new solutions quickly and designing solutions that are secured, reliable, maintainable, and scalable for the long run.

Role Overview

The Platform Solutions Engineer (PSE) serves as a technical bridge between Optimal Dynamics' platform, customer operations, and internal teams. This role supports both new deployments and existing customers, helping to implement data integrations, calibrate optimization models, monitor post-deployment performance, and resolve technical issues. The PSE plays a hands-on role in ensuring that customer solutions are technically sound, stable, and aligned with operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Integration

  • Integrate customer systems using APIs, flat files, SFTP, or direct database connections
  • Ensure data completeness, accuracy, and alignment with optimization requirements
  • Troubleshoot integration and data issues in collaboration with internal and external teams
Model Calibration & Platform Configuration
  • Support the calibration of optimization and simulation models based on customer constraints and operational goals
  • Translate solution design inputs into executable platform configurations
  • Validate optimization outputs against expected results and customer rules
  • Iterate on model parameters and configuration settings based on feedback and performance metrics
Post-Deployment Monitoring & Support
  • Monitor system and model performance to ensure sustained solution effectiveness
  • Identify and implement calibration or integration updates based on live operations and customer feedback
  • Provide ongoing support for transitioned customers, including resolving support tickets
  • Serve as an escalation point for initial technical issues post-deployment
  • Contribute to the evolution of internal deployment playbooks and technical tooling
Customer & Internal Collaboration
  • Partner with Solutions Engineers, Customer Success Managers, and Product teams to align technical execution with business needs
  • Participate in project planning, internal handoffs, and customer meetings as needed
  • Maintain clear documentation of data flows, configurations, and troubleshooting paths
  • Help inform product and process improvements through insight gained from customer interactions
Product & Analytics Support
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Optimal Dynamics platform and product roadmap
  • Support internal analytics and business intelligence tools to improve customer visibility and platform monitoring
Role Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical support, solutions engineering, or customer-facing engineering role, ideally within a SaaS or logistics technology environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify, isolate, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Proficiency in writing and maintaining technical documentation and user guides.
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g., SQL), APIs, and common support tools (e.g., Jira, Zendesk, Confluence).
  • Experience working with data and business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI) is a strong plus.
