We are seeking a highly motivated Cybersecurity Network Admin Intern to join our New York-based Information Security Team for a 9-week Paid Internship Program. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in network security, infrastructure management, and cybersecurity best practices. The intern will work closely with network and security engineers, supporting the maintenance and optimization of critical systems that ensure the security and reliability of OTC Markets’ infrastructure.
- Program Dates: June 1, 2026 - July 31, 2026
- Compensation: Up to $25.00 per hour
- Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
Throughout the program, the intern will gain a deep understanding of network administration and cybersecurity operations within a regulated financial marketplace and will have the opportunity to present their key learnings and contributions to the company at the conclusion of the internship. What You’ll Do:
- Work closely with the network and security teams to assist in the maintenance and support of network infrastructure and security systems.
- Help identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network and security-related issues, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
- Receive mentorship, feedback, and coaching from team members to enhance technical and security expertise.
- Assist in developing and updating network security documentation, policies, and internal training materials.
- Contribute to projects aimed at optimizing security tools, automating network processes, and improving overall system efficiency.
- Additional responsibilities, as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong passion for cybersecurity, networking, and technology, with a commitment to continuous learning.
- Proactive and curious mindset, eager to explore security and network engineering concepts beyond coursework.
- Relevant coursework or hands-on experience in networking, cybersecurity, or computer science (specific major not required).
- Interest in configuring, staging, and deploying network and security hardware (e.g., firewalls, routers, switches).
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree with at least two years completed in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and basic system administration.
- Knowledge of shell scripting (Bash, Python, or Perl) for automating security/network tasks is a plus.
- Interest in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for network automation and security configuration management.
