Summary

Picture Shop, a Streamland Media company, is seeking a Dailies Assist to support production-based dailies workflows for film and television productions. This role is ideal for a highly organized and technically proficient individual who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is interested in developing expertise in digital media and post-production workflows.

 

The successful candidate will be technically minded, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working under tight deadlines. The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and consistency is essential to supporting efficient dailies operations.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Support dailies workflows for film and television productions in accordance with established technical and operational procedures.
  2. Assist with the organization, management, transfer, and copying of production media and associated files.
  3. Maintain accurate file hierarchies, directory structures, and data copies to ensure media is properly organized and securely managed.
  4. Support the preparation, organization, and management of hard drives and other media-storage devices.
  5. Assist with audio syncing and metadata entry as required by established workflows.
  6. Work with Mac and Windows operating systems and navigate standard user interfaces and computer workflows.
  7. Troubleshoot basic computer, hardware, software, storage, and connectivity issues as needed.
  8. Support workflows involving professional editing and post-production applications.
  9. Assist with the setup, connection, organization, and maintenance of production-related equipment and computer hardware.
  10. Manage multiple assignments and priorities simultaneously while meeting production deadlines and maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  11. Communicate effectively with team members and production and post-production stakeholders to support efficient workflow execution.
  12. Follow established workflows, procedures, and quality-control practices while maintaining consistency and attention to detail.
  13. Adapt to changing project requirements, technologies, equipment, and workflows in a fast-paced production environment.

 

Secondary Responsibilities

  1. Assist with workflows involving professional digital film cameras and associated media.
  2. Support equipment wiring, connectivity, and basic computer hardware integration.
  3. Assist with post-production applications such as Colorfront, Avid, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, or comparable professional software.
  4. Support other production and post-production tasks as assigned based on project and operational requirements.
  5. Maintain an organized, clean, and professional work environment.
  6. Contribute to efficient team workflows through clear communication, organization, attention to detail, and a willingness to assist across projects and assignments.

 

Required Qualifications (Must Have)

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Strong computer aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills.
  3. Working knowledge of Mac and Windows operating systems.
  4. Strong understanding of file management, including file hierarchies, file transfers, data copying, and general media organization.
  5. Familiarity with user-interface navigation and general computer workflows.
  6. Working knowledge of hard-drive technologies and common interfaces, including Thunderbolt and USB.
  7. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  8. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining accuracy under time constraints.
  9. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced film and television production environment.
  10. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  11. Knowledge of audio syncing and metadata entry.
  12. Ability to work collaboratively with production and post-production teams.
  13. Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, software, equipment, and workflows.
  14. Current driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  15. Ability and willingness to work overtime, variable hours, and weekends as necessary, including with little or short notice, based on production and project needs.

 

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  1. Experience with professional editing or post-production software, including Colorfront, Avid, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, or comparable applications.
  2. Previous dailies or post-production experience.
  3. Knowledge of professional digital film cameras and related media formats.
  4. Familiarity with basic color-management or image-processing workflows.
  5. Experience with equipment wiring, connectivity, and computer hardware integration.
  6. Film school or other formal film/television production experience.
  7. Bachelor's degree in an applicable field.
Pay Range

$25 to $35 Hourly
