Job Description
Analyzes, verifies, tracks and reports on department related databases and software. Serves as a liaison between department’s analytical needs and technical data storage systems and files; collaborates with stakeholders to document requirements for reporting. Develop analytic reports and dashboards utilizing various databases and third party data files.
Job Responsibility
Executive Reporting and Dashboards- Creates and maintains executive reporting and dashboards using Epic reporting tools (such as Clarity, Caboodle, Radar, Reporting Workbench, and SlicerDicer), supplemented by enterprise business intelligence platforms as needed.
- Develops and maintains a standard Physician Enterprise performance scorecard for OPE leadership, service-line chairs, and market leaders.
- Automates recurring reports and ensures accuracy, consistent definitions, and timely delivery.
- Performs analysis across the following domains:
- Clinical operations: access, scheduling, provider productivity (wRVUs), capacity and utilization, and throughput.
- Financial: P&L performance, budget variance, and cost and revenue trends by service line, site, and provider, in partnership with the OPE CFO and Northwell Finance.
- Revenue cycle: charge capture and charge lag, coding, denials, days in A/R, collections, and payer mix.
- Referrals: referral patterns, network integrity and leakage, and growth opportunities.
- Analyzes Vizient data, including the Clinical Data Base and related benchmarking, to compare quality, cost, utilization, and outcomes against peers and identify improvement opportunities.
- Conducts ad hoc and deep-dive analyses in response to leadership questions. Frames the problem, identifies the right data, and delivers findings with clear recommendations.
- Prepares presentation-ready charts and materials, and presents findings to leadership.
- Manages intake and prioritization of analytic requests from the EVP, Chief Administrator, and CFO, and maintains a transparent work queue.
- Partners with Northwell's enterprise analytics, IT and Epic, Finance, Revenue Cycle, and Quality teams to access data, align on definitions, and avoid duplicating existing reporting.
- Establishes and documents consistent metric definitions for Physician Enterprise reporting.
- Ensures appropriate handling of protected health information in compliance with HIPAA and Northwell data governance policies.

- Develops technical and functional specifications based on business requirements and analysis of technical workflows.
- Identifies issues in data quality that would impact reporting (i.e. duplicate records, missing data, etc.).
- Identifies methods of data visualization and presentation principles to ensure effective and impactful communication of projects to management.
- Maintains trends and tracks various measures to fully utilize the capabilities of databases and data files.
- Integrates add-on programs to eliminate or streamline back end processes.
- Serves as a liaison between departments analytical needs and technical data storage systems and files.
- Operates under general guidance and work assignments are varied and require interpretation and independent decisions on course of action.

Job Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
HIGHLY PREFFERED
- Bachelor's degree in analytics, statistics, health administration, finance, economics, computer science, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of healthcare analytics experience, required, including at least 3 years building reports and dashboards from Epic data.
- Proficiency in Epic reporting required. Epic certification (Clarity Data Model, Caboodle, or Cogito) strongly preferred.
- Experience analyzing Vizient data required.
- Advanced SQL skills. Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or a similar visualization tool, and advanced Excel.
- Working knowledge of physician practice operations, revenue cycle, and provider productivity metrics.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly and concisely to executive and physician audiences.
- Must be able to work on-site in New York City and New Hyde Park, NY.
- Preferred: experience in a large integrated health system or academic medical center; experience with referral or network analytics; familiarity with physician compensation models.
