Our client has a 51-year track record of making charitable giving simple and efficient for their Fundholders.  The organization manages over $4 billion in charitable assets for over 5,000 funds. By working with our client you are part of a collaborative team that sends over $900 million a year in donations to charities around the world. The client is a 501c3 organization based in New York City.

Position Summary

In this position, you will play a crucial role in maintaining data systems that align with our client's mission of facilitating charitable giving. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer and working out of their New York City office (in a hybrid role), you will also work closely with data contractors and other stakeholders to ensure efficient data processing, analysis, and reporting within the context of nonprofit and philanthropic work.

This is a hybrid position that offers flexibility in balancing in-office and remote work. The number of days in the office and the specific work schedule are open to discussion and will be mutually agreed upon based on the needs of the organization and the selected candidate.

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to visualize donor activity, grant distributions, and organizational performance metrics.

- Lead the data migration process to a new fundraising and ERP system:

- Extract data from legacy systems

- Cleanse, normalize, and validate data

- Coordinate and support the transfer and loading of data into the new platform

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into scalable, user-friendly solutions.

- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems and reports.

- Document dashboard logic, workflow processes, and data sources for internal reference and training.

-Design and implement Power Automate workflows to automate routine tasks and expand low-code/no-code capabilities to improve operational efficiency.

- Provide training and support for staff in running reports and using automation tools.

- Coordinate with external vendors and partners to integrate third-party data sources as needed.

Qualifications

Core Requirements:

- Approximately five years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data reporting, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.

- Strong proficiency in Excel and experience building effective dashboards and reports in Power BI or a comparable business intelligence platform.

- Working knowledge of SQL, relational data, data modeling, and data validation.

- Experience preparing, cleansing, standardizing, and reconciling data to support reporting or system transitions.

- Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into practical, user-friendly reporting and data solutions.

- Clear communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Requirements:

- Experience developing and maintaining Power Automate workflows or using comparable workflow automation and low-code/no-code tools.

- Experience with data migration projects, legacy systems, or enterprise system implementations.

- Experience with Google BigQuery or another cloud data platform.

- Familiarity with DAX, REST APIs, JSON/XML data formats, or system integrations.

- Exposure to AI-enabled tools for data analysis, preparation, classification, or transformation.

- Experience in a small team, mission-driven organization, nonprofit, foundation, or donor-advised fund environment.
