Role:

Versana is looking for a collaborative and accountable Data Architect to join our Platform Engineering team. The Platform Engineering team’s role is to work, create and maintain an architecture to support Versana’s real-time data platform and functionality.  The Platform Engineering team enables Developers and QA Engineers to build a consistent, resilient, and scalable platform.

The Data Architect will be responsible for creating standards and managing data in transit and at rest. This results-driven individual will analyze and create tools, make recommendations, and implement solutions.  This role will report to the Chief Technology Officer and play a key part in building Versana’s transformative syndicated loan market platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain + enhance data architecture framework to facilitate development
• Design data models and set standards for databases and data lake
• Visualize and design a scalable and resilient data management framework
• Creating and maintaining data pipelines and frameworks for data ingestion to the data lake
• Establish data quality standards to ensure data accuracy and compliance
• Define maintenance, persistence, and archival strategies
• Present to executive leadership on business value of recommendations
• Work with Product, Development, QA and Data Science teams
• Provide ongoing production support for the platform

Must Have:

• BS or BA in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years building financial software
• 2+ years as a data architect
• Knowledge of streaming event platforms
• Knowledge of Data mining and partitioning techniques
• Experience with Kafka and Postgres
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Curiosity and willingness to learn new things
• Ability to process information quickly while adapting to changing priorities
• Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to partner with various internal teams

Nice to Have:

• Syndicated Loan knowledge
• Dremio experience or similar experience with other data lake tools and frameworks
• Distributed ledger and/or smart contract experience
