The Role

We're hiring a Data Architect to design scalable, resilient data platforms that power our wealth management technology. As Farther hyperscales, we need someone to help evolve our data systems supporting real-time analytics, AI initiatives, and client reporting. You'll focus on platform design and implementation—not just ETL scripts—contributing to the foundation for our next phase of growth. You'll work directly with our Head of AI & ML Engineering and collaborate closely with our data team, providing dedicated architectural expertise to design and optimize the platforms that sit above the data layer.

Your Impact
  • Design and evolve scalable architectures for portfolios, positions, transactions, and financial models that support real-time analytics and AI
  • Normalize and integrate complex data from custodians, vendors, and market feeds with focus on quality and performance
  • Implement comprehensive data quality, lineage, and dependency tracking systems
  • Architect caching, scaling, and enrichment pipelines designed for high performance and reusability
  • Implement robust monitoring via metrics, logs, and traces to ensure system reliability
  • Collaborate on data architecture roadmaps, evaluate vendor contracts, and conduct cost-benefit analysis
  • Coordinate delivery across engineering, product, and data teams while setting clear goals and timelines
The Ideal Match
  • Expert-level experience with AWS platforms and services
  • Strong database design skills and advanced SQL proficiency
  • Proficient in Python for data platform development
  • Deep experience with time-series data, reference/market data, and vendor onboarding
  • Proven experience in data modeling, orchestration, and scaling architectures
  • Strong ability to coordinate across technical teams and drive delivery
  • Experience setting goals, managing timelines, and delivering technical projects
Bonus Points
  • Experience in wealth management, financial services, or fintech environments
  • Background with custodial data and financial reporting requirements
  • Familiarity with real-time analytics and AI/ML data pipeline architectures
  • Experience with data governance and compliance frameworks in regulated industries
  • Track record in high-growth technology environments
Why Join Us
  • Everything you need to build the perfect dev station from hardware to software
  • Learn & grow through book clubs, seminars, and peer learning sessions
  • Full health benefits + 401(k) matching & Roth IRA options
  • Unlimited PTO
  • An amazing collaborative atmosphere between product, design, and engineering to solve hard problems together
