Title: Data Engineer - Data Platforms

Location:  USA-Remote #LI-Remote

About the role
Join the LTK Family! As a part of the Data Engineering team, you will help us on our mission to be the largest digital marketing platform powered by influencers. We are seeking a Data Platform Engineer to design and build reliable, high-performance data pipelines that power analytics, machine learning, and decision-making across the company.

You are fluent with platforms like AWS, Snowflake, Airflow, and dbt at your fingertips, and deploying via tools such as Terraform being second nature, you are primed to spearhead our pursuit of data excellence.

At the heart of it all, you're not just an engineer; you see the art in orchestrating data. As you engage with teams, provide strategic guidance, and champion the consistent adoption of best practices, you're also shaping the future of data analytics at LTK.

  • Operate as an independent owner—designing, implementing, and maintaining production-grade data workflows.
  • Write clean, test-covered code and unit tests; apply secure coding principles.
  • Design, build, and maintain batch and streaming pipelines across Snowflake, AWS, and Kafka.
  • Develop data models to standardize business metrics, enforce testing, and improve lineage visibility.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources—including Kafka, APIs, S3, and internal systems—into unified datasets.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting for data freshness, quality, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists on data products that improve operational excellence and customer experience.
  • Work with modern tools and cutting-edge AI capabilities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Grow into technical leadership by taking ownership of impactful, cross-functional pipelines.
  • Work with distributed teams across different time zones.

What you will bring to LTK

  • 4+ years of software development and data engineering experience with strong data fundamentals.
  • Degree: A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred, although relevant work experience can sometimes compensate for formal education.
  • Advanced programming skills in Python focusing on data-intensive applications.
  • Expert in SQL and Python (or Scala) for data transformation at scale.
  • Skilled in SQL for data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, and more.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration (Airflow, Dagster, DBT) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbt for modeling and orchestration.
  • Familiarity with Kafka or other streaming systems.
  • Hands-on Terraform proficiency to build and modify AWS/Snowflake data infrastructure—author simple modules, manage remote state/workspaces, and ship changes via CI/CD with rollback.
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT patterns, data modeling, and workflow orchestration.
  • Awareness of data governance, observability, and testing best practices.
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to learn, collaborate remotely, and communicate effectively in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have:

  • History of designing and building scalable distributed systems in a cloud environment.
  • Experience with AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, and RDS or equivalents
  • Having built scalable internal and public-facing APIs (REST, JSON, HTTP).
  • Experience with non-relational data stores such as DynamoDB or Cassandra.
  • Familiar with knowledge of observability tools such as DataDog.
  • Familiar with feature flags and A/B testing
