DecisionPoint seeks a Data Quality / Governance Analyst to support Task 3 data governance, accuracy, and cross-system alignment for a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment.


This role validates data sources, maintains metadata rules and data dictionaries, supports tagging standards, and performs continuous quality checks to ensure accurate reporting, dashboards, and analytics.


The Data Quality / Governance Analyst collaborates closely with Task 2 and Task 3 reporting teams, dashboard developers, data owners, and PMO leadership to maintain consistent, reliable, and governable enterprise data.


This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Validate Task 3 data sources and assess accuracy, completeness, and reliability. 
  • Maintain data dictionaries, metadata rules, tagging standards, and classification definitions. 
  • Ensure consistency of KPIs, metrics, and datasets across Tasks 2 and 3. 
  • Perform data reconciliation, profiling, cleansing, and quality checks. 
  • Support cross-task data harmonization and integration workflows. 
  • Identify data anomalies, gaps, or inconsistencies and recommend remediation steps. 
  • Collaborate with dashboard teams, analysts, and system owners to align data definitions. 
  • Maintain documentation for data governance processes, metadata rules, and data lineage. 
  • Track source system changes, schema updates, and data dependency impacts. 
  • Support adherence to federal data governance standards and reporting requirements. 
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of dashboard specifications, metric definitions, and reporting standardization under Data COE-owned standards.
Qualifications
  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data governance, data quality, metadata management, or a directly related data management discipline.
  • Experience maintaining data dictionaries, metadata rules, and standardized data fields.
  • Experience performing data validation, profiling, or cleansing.
  • Demonstrated experience reconciling conflicting metrics across independent source systems, including diagnosing differences in definition, population/filter logic, refresh timing, and transformation logic.
  • Experience supporting cross-team or cross-system data harmonization efforts. 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability, particularly in diagnosing the root cause of data discrepancies.
  • Clear written communication, including the ability to produce standards documentation, data dictionary entries, and remediation write-ups that non-technical stakeholders can act on.

Technical Knowledge (Required)

  • Understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality principles, and metadata standards.
  • Proficiency with Excel, SQL, or similar tools for data validation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with KPI frameworks and structured metric definitions.
  • Working knowledge of PII handling and Privacy Act requirements as applied to reporting, including aggregation practices and small-cell suppression thresholds for sensitive population data.

Technical Knowledge (Preferred)

  • Experience with Power BI, including Power Query/M and DAX; Tableau, Grafana, or similar BI tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms or ETL/ELT tools.
  • Familiarity with data catalog or governance tooling.
  • Familiarity with the DoD Data Strategy (VAULTIS).

Certifications (preferred)

  • ITIL v4 Foundation
  • Data governance or data management certifications
