Join Mizuho as a Data Quality Technical Analyst!

Mizuho is seeking a senior professional to act as a key team member in supporting initiatives to improve the ongoing operation of the data management program such as policies, standards and execution related to data quality monitoring, data attestation, reporting, and issue remediation to promote comprehensive, consistent, accurate and timely data across the enterprise. It will require the individual to develop relationships with counterparts within the team including data quality engineers and across Business and Functional units, amongst others.

The individual will be required to lead reviews of data quality requirements, providing directions to the data quality engineers to produce a high quality of work product. The candidate should also be able to work hands-on using existing tools to meet deliverables as needed. An initial focus will be on critical reporting use cases but this is expected to expand beyond regulatory pressures in 2025 and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of Data Quality Standards and Procedures
  • Collaborate across Data Domains, IT, Line of Business and Stakeholders to achieve goals
  • Analyze data quality requirements and conduct data profiling. Implement data quality rules and configure data observability.
  • Maintain knowledge of technology/tooling to support data quality management, and provide input into requirements for future tooling 
  • Conduct complex analysis to identify and remediate data quality issues and/or control gaps

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • 8+ years of data quality management experience, including foundational knowledge of best practices and industry standards
  • 5+ years of experience with data analysis and data wrangling using tools such as SQL, Python
  • Experience with enterprise data quality and observability tools like Anomalo, Monte Carlo etc.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with business and technology stakeholders
  • Knowledge of control and risk management concepts with the ability to evaluate controls, create procedure and process flows in conjunction with business and control partners
  • Knowledge of relational and dimensional modelling
  • Knowledge of data warehouse, operational data store and data mart design concepts
  • Knowledge of source code management and DevOps platforms such as GitLab or GitHub
  • Experience with project/issue tracking software (JIRA)
  • Experience with data analytic reporting software such as Power BI
  • Experience with Data Catalogs such as Securiti.ai

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Creative thinker with the ability to design innovative data solutions. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
  • Strong experience in the CIB and/or Financial Services data domain would be advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Science & Engineering or Data Science, Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field

The expected base salary ranges from $105k-$150k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
