Applied Data Analyst
As an Applied Data Analyst at Second Measure (reporting to our data science manager), you’ll work in a technical client-facing capacity, collaborating with some of the world’s largest investment firms and consumer brands. Partnering with our business development and client engagement teams, you’ll ensure prospects and clients have the data they need to inform making multi-million dollar investment and strategic decisions.
In this role, you will:
- Engage with prospective and current clients to help them find value in our data.
- Grow domain expertise in a specific client vertical like institutional investors or corporates.
- Work with internal cross-functional teams to develop new sales strategies.
- Collaborate with our client engagement team to produce new insights for our clients.
- Partner with data scientists to define and execute on ad-hoc analysis.
About you:
- You have 2+ yrs work experience in a technical consulting, sales engineering, or marketing analyst role.
- You are proficient in SQL, Excel, and data storytelling.
- You are a highly analytical thinker and can explain complex data topics to non-experts.
- You are passionate about using data to understand multifaceted problems and topics.
- You want to grow your knowledge of an industry while also sharpening your analytical skills.
- You would thrive in a rapidly changing startup.
- Bonus:
- You have domain knowledge of buy-side finance and/or corporate strategy.

We are all working from home at least through June '21 to keep our team safe and healthy. We hope to (at some point) work from our San Mateo, CA HQ and NYC offices in some capacity in 2021 and it would be great if you are based in the Bay Area or NYC. That said, we are open to remote on a permanent basis, granted you would need to be based in one of the following 10 states: AL, CA, CO, FL, IL, MI, NJ, NY, TN, or WA.
