Your Team:

The Ribbon Buyer Underwriting Team is responsible for the review and verification of buyer approvals. This role is unique from standard mortgage roles because Ribbon is not a lender, but we partner with lenders and evaluate prospective home buyers to determine mortgage eligibility. Our team is looking for subject matter experts with an entrepreneur's mindset and ability to execute tasks to completion.

As part of the team, you’ll be ensuring that we work with high-qualified customers meeting Ribbon’s eligibility criteria. Your role is to support the optimization of Ribbon's policies and procedures to ensure we back high-quality buyers that conform to our internal requirements. This position will challenge your ability to establish and implement complex operational processes while working cross-functionally with other critical teams.

How you'll make homeownership achievable:

• Work with our partner lenders to understand and verify the pre approval processes.
• Collaborating with internal teams to creatively solve challenging scenarios.
• Reviewing escalation and exception requests
• Determine the most effective ways to assist our sales and outside agents. While adhering to Ribbon's superior customer service standards.
• Review and analyze the buyers relevant documents and mortgage approvals
• Shaping Ribbon’s transaction eligibility requirements and related processes
• Creating an exceptional and effective partnership with our lenders and agents for an outstanding buyer experience

What we’re looking for:

• 1-3 years of recent mortgage loan processing or fulfillment experience required
• Experience in FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and Non-Conforming (Jumbo) mortgages
• Decision-making and critical thinking skills. Underwriting experience a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to learn a new process quickly in a fast growing technology based startup
• Ability to determine the level of risk associated with all requests.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, fluid environment and be held to minimum production standards
• The drive to build something new and innovative.
• Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
