theSkimm analytics, product, and engineering teams are a group of fast-moving and creative thinkers who thrive on creating products Skimm’rs love. We are redefining how to build products that fit into routines, and we take a user-centric, collaborative approach while doing so. This role will help us better understand our audience and their behaviors to shape the future of our products, marketing and the company.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOINGThis role will support the growth team in many capacities including:
- Managing and executing quantitative, qualitative and secondary research projects from the ground up -- with a particular emphasis on survey research
- Collecting and analyzing data about our audience(s) including Skimm’bassadors, Skimm’rs and general female millennials
- Connecting disparate data sets to provide a more holistic picture of these audiences
- Segmenting our audience based on motivations, behaviors, and attitudes with an ability to bring them to life with personas
- Designing and implementing measurement strategies to determine impact of key Skimm initiatives
- Developing meaningful and actionable insights for internal and external stakeholders
- Working with the core data team to discover and evaluate emerging macro trends in order to better understand how they relate to our audience (e.g. the current political environment, etc)
- Working with insights lead to proactively identify opportunities for useful and impactful research for internal stakeholders
- Leading ad hoc projects to inform important strategic initiatives, such as brand sponsorships and new product development
- Between 4-6 years of full-time, professional experience in an analytical capacity - e.g. roles in strategy, research, consulting, or analytics -- with strength in survey research
- Familiarity with survey research tools and methodologies like brand trackers, net promoter score, and qualitative ones such as in-depth interviews and ethnographies, etc.
- An ability to prioritize your time and focus in a fast-paced environment

- Being a) very comfortable with data, b) creative and resourceful in order to solve problems, and c) inquisitive by nature and constantly asking "who, what, and why?"
- Ability to break down complex data into compelling stories
- Attention to detail
- You love to learn and have experience to support that
- Experience with SQL, and/or the idea of learning a programming language does not scare you
- A keen interest in news / current events
- An understanding of advanced statistical analysis
