The Job
We are looking for a Data Scientist II to join the Content Data Science & Analytics team at Warner Bros. Discovery.
As a Data Scientist II, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging and greenfield problems to help Warner Bros. Discovery grow through this exciting time of streaming expansion in the entertainment sector. You will be a part of the Portfolio Data Science team, tackling questions around capital allocation and grouping content. You will leverage your statistical and machine learning skills on topics related to content ranging from title performance, cost optimisation, signal processing, to time series analysis. You will be a hands-on domain expert working with cross-functional partners to solve broader business problems with data-driven insights and algorithmic thinking.
The Daily
- Develop solutions and build prototypes to solve business problems using machine learning and statistical analysis
- Create impact by helping to solve difficult data science problems using a variety of ML techniques with careful investigations into accuracy / performance
- Synthesize analytics and statistical approaches into easy-to-consume storylines, both visually and verbally, and clearly communicate with both non-data science audiences (such as creatives) and data scientists
- Work closely with the wider data science team as well as supporting and presenting to multiple stakeholders
The Essentials
- M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Machine Learning, Engineering, Physics or other quantitative fields preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in an industry setting
- Knowledge of underlying mathematical foundations of statistics, machine learning, optimisation and analytics
- Experienced in Python and SQL
Nice to Haves
- Proven ability in building relationships and collaborate with stakeholders across large organizations
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Experience with time series forecasting
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be performed in New York City. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $107,100.00 - $198,900.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
