Job Description

We are seeking a senior level Analyst to join the Value Analytics team. This is an exciting opportunity to join our digital, informatics and technology organization and work on high priority platforms supported by the Division of Health Informatics. DHI focuses on the interaction of people, processes, and technology enabling MSK to meet critical patient care and research objectives.. Our division manages a suite of clinical information systems including the electronic health record, ancillary systems and other core components thatenable decision support, health information exchange and knowledge management.

 

You Will:

  • Work with business users to understand their business processes; gather and document requirements; translate requirements into functional specifications for dashboards and reports
  • Design and optimization of dimensional data models to support reporting infrastructure
  • Identify project risks and impediments; notify management; proactively work with other members of the team to complete assigned tasks as defined by project scope and timelines
  • Assist in the development of data governance processes which entails documentation and implementation of data quality policies, procedures and standards to ensure a high level of data integrity
  • Create ad-hoc queries and reports
  • Develop test plans to assure the functionality and integrity of reporting solutions
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to identify system deficiencies, analyze problems and solutions to conclude and implement corrective action.

You Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics or equivalent experience in healthcare
  • 5+ years demonstrated ability developing reporting solutions against relational and dimensional underlying data in a multi-platform environment
  • Strong proficiency in SQL programming, deep knowledge of relational database design principles, and Tableau / data visualization & BI tools
  • Experience with DB2, R & Python programming a plus
  • Exposure to SAFe or agile methodologies a bonus

Sample Projects:

  • Defining metrics and building visualizations supporting various division and hospital-wide initiatives such as Telemedicine, Clinical User Experience and Mobile Workforce
  • Analyzing utilization patterns leveraging multiple data sources such as the Health Information Exchange
  • Analyzing compliance, recovery and outcomes after surgery as part of our Enhanced Recovery Programs
