Job Description

Are you looking to make an impact? Do you want to use your skills to make the world's best cancer center even better? We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our team!

 

We support MSK's doctors, nurses, researchers, and other staff as they work to treat and cure cancer. If you have deep technical skills coupled with a passion for making them useful in solving real problems, then this could be an ideal role for you! We're looking for a thoughtful, out-of-the-box developer who is no stranger to leveraging advanced NLP techniques for achieving operational and business needs.

 

What sets this opportunity apart? Our team is a part of Strategy and Innovation, a department at the forefront of MSK’s advancement, hosting novel and ambitious developments and projects.We have access to a sea of data: clinical, operational, financial, strategic, both structured and free text, all at our finger tips. You’ll be given the opportunity to mentor junior developers and to learn about the various business aspect of healthcare. Along with enjoying professional development, trainings, and a healthy work-life balance.This role will remain remote until 2021. Our office is based in Midtown east, NYC.

You will:

  • Developing and prototyping ML/Deep Learning models for in Python with a high focus on NLP applications.
  • Directing models and applications to achieve business and institutional values.
  • Applying common NLP algorithms: Word embedding, transfer learning, Hugging Face's libraries.
  • Examples: Classifying radiology reports.

You have:

  • 8 years of industry experience: doing ML programming with time series prediction, classification, decision support, etc., in a business setting. Of those, 3+ years of NLP work with DL.
  • Strong Python and SQL knowledge
  • Ability to work directly with business stakeholders, derive requirements, design a roadmap, advocate for your approach, and execute.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
