The Role
We’re looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Engineering Manager who will be a thought partner for the Product team; build an inclusive team culture; empower engineers to succeed and foster an environment that creates high quality engineering processes and product delivery. You are passionate about technology and can amplify your technical knowledge via your team. You’ll work closely with our product and design teams to deliver great products for our clients.
We’re building a new Business Intelligence function to deliver data-driven insights to our clients. The team will work primarily in Java, Python, Looker, Tableau and Snowflake/Redshift and will use Agile methodologies to drive impactful business outcomes. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with Product and Design to define and drive the Business Intelligence roadmap.
- Hiring, coaching and mentoring a team of software engineers
- Driving software delivery and improving engineering processes to deliver impactful business outcomes for our clients.
- Leveraging your technical knowledge to help engineers develop simple, pragmatic solutions to complex problems.
- Collaborating cross-functionally to deliver a strategic platform that will enable other engineering teams to deliver insights to our clients.
Who You Are
- 7+ years experience as a professional software engineer with at least 3+ years leading successful teams.
- Extensive knowledge of the business intelligence landscape with the ability to both build scalable and resilient systems and to select the right vendor tools to deliver intuitive, feature-rich user experiences.
- Proven ability to collaborate with and mentor other engineers.
- A hands-on technical mindset with experience delivering analytical products. Strong data modelling skills are a plus.
- Ability to drive delivery within goal-setting frameworks such as OKRs and to build iterative solutions and respond to client feedback.
