Dean of Students K-5 (26/27 School Year)Description

Citizenship and Science Academy of Syracuse Elementary is excited to announce an opening for a Dean of Students for the 2026–2027 academic year. We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic professional committed to fostering a positive, structured, and student-centered school environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Dean of Students will:

  • Consistently implement the school’s Code of Conduct 
  • Train and educate staff, students, and families on behavior expectations and policies 
  • Maintain a visible and accessible presence throughout the school 
  • Analyze behavioral data to identify trends and implement action plans 
  • Identify students in need of behavioral support and develop targeted intervention plans 
  • Build positive relationships with students and families to support a respectful school culture 
  • Collaborate with counselors and teachers to develop and implement RTI (Response to Intervention) processes 
  • Work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and parents while maintaining professionalism

Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree (required) 
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and/or in an urban setting (preferred) 
  • Fingerprint clearance through the NYS Department of Education
