The Opportunity:ING’s Global Capital Markets (“GCM”) team originates, structures, and distributes all forms of public and private debt to our US institutional investor base. In line with our strategic growth ambitions in the US, and investments across the fixed income value chain, we are now looking to bolster the GCM team with a Director level originator. The candidate will be an integral part of our US investment grade initiatives and responsible for a portfolio of client relationships.Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:
  • Help develop and strengthen GCM’ US corporate business in conjunction with the broader Capital Markets & Advisory teams
  • Lead coverage for a portfolio of investment grade corporate DCM relationships across sectors
  • Drive internal discussions with the coverage banking teams to identify new business opportunities
  • Coordinate and utilize a hands-on approach in all aspects of client facing materials
  • Support other senior originators in the team with pitching efforts and execution of mandates
  • Work with the financial markets team to help identify and support solutions for our corporate clients
  • Support the global GCM team’s efforts related to US$ financing opportunities for international corporates
  • Involvement in all aspects of live transaction execution, from internal underwriting requests to coordination with syndicate and legal
  • Mentor and guide the work of junior team members
Profile

Qualifications / Education:

  • Minimum of BA/BS
  • Series 79, 63 licenses
  • Debt capital markets experience
  • Desirable: MBA, CFA or similar qualification
Experience / Knowledge:
  • Proven experience in debt capital markets with extensive financial markets knowledge and technical skills
  • Strong leadership capabilities and ability to build rapport with internal / external stakeholders
  • Possess superior client relationship, presentation / sales, written and verbal skills
  • Proficient across Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and Bloomberg
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment successfully managing multiple competing demands
  • Must be proactive and hands-on to generate creative client solutions

Base Salary Range: $275K - $325K
