The Role:
Debtwire is seeking a financial restructuring lawyer with a minimum of five years of experience in the restructuring group at a law firm to join our team as a Senior Legal Analyst. In this role you will write articles that analyze complex legal issues concerning both in-court and out-of-court restructurings (including liability management transactions) for our diverse and sophisticated clients, which include hedge funds, asset managers, banks, law firms and financial advisors.
Attention to detail, issue spotting, clear, concise writing skills and the ability to make legalese understandable for non-lawyers on a timely basis are all important skills for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Publishing in-depth legal research on corporate restructuring issues in large Chapter 11 cases, identifying and analyzing key legal issues impacting a company before a Chapter 11 filing, conceptualizing and executing ad hoc reports, producing same-day analysis of market-moving events.
- Analyzing and publishing articles on liability management transactions and out-of-court restructurings.
- Working collaboratively with other legal analysts, court reporters, credit analysts and data analysts to timely produce content covering fast-moving and evolving situations.

- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to produce written analysis of complex legal issues for a sophisticated audience that includes both lawyers and non-lawyers.
- Superior time management capabilities, consummate multi-tasker, ability to effectively juggle competing priorities.
Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- J.D. is required.
- Journal membership or judicial clerkship are preferred.
- Substantial comprehension and experience writing about legal issues related to the Bankruptcy Code, Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, liability management exercises and out-of-court restructurings.
- Substantial comprehension of the Bankruptcy Code and Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure.
- Minimum 5 years of experience at a law firm in the corporate restructuring department representing debtors and/or creditors in large Chapter 11 cases.
- Substantial comprehension of topical restructuring legal issues and current controlling caselaw.
- Comprehension of the general administrative and substantive corporate finance issues that arise in restructurings.
- Previous familiarity with the Debtwire product offering is a plus.

Salary Range:
The estimated salary range is $180,000 - $220,000. Salary is negotiable depending on experience and skills.
