Organization Overview:The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York City’s leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults through-out Manhattan and New York City. We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville, and seek to deliver programs that are impactful, innovative, and intergenerational.


Position Summary:Responsible for the delivery of a daily meal to all clients on their assigned route. In addition, the deliverer will provide basic visual monitoring of their clients and report any significant changes to their direct supervisor for follow up.


Schedule: Monday through Friday 25 hours per week


Hourly Rate: $18.00

Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties
  • Ensures that meal bags are properly packed and secure prior to delivery.
  • Deliver meals to home bound clients as per the assigned route.
  • Observe client and their surrounding area; report concerns as needed.
  • Report to Supervisor clients that are not home to receive meals.
  • Reports to driver and office staff any request for supportive services and needs by participants.
  • Maintains accurate log of meal deliveries
  • Delivers envelopes for participant contributions and collects contributions.
  • Attends all in-service training and monthly meetings.
  • Meal Deliverers with driver’s license may be asked to drive when needed
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or HSE is preferred
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the aging population.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Able to work either Thanksgiving or Christmas Day
