About Polymarket

Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market platform. We enable individuals to express views on real-world events by trading on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. Built as a peer-to-peer marketplace with no centralized "house," Polymarket aggregates diverse opinions into transparent, market-based probabilities that reflect collective expectations about the future.

We're growing fast, both in terms of volume ($21B traded in 2025) and adoption as an alternative news source. Our ambition is to become a ubiquitous beacon of truth in global media and we need your help adding fuel to the fire.

About the Role

There's a rare type of person who loves front-end hacking just as much as they love great product design. Someone who gets equally excited about a perfectly tuned animation as they do about a cleaner user flow. If that's you, we want to work together.

Polymarket is looking for a Design Engineer to help deliver highly polished, intuitive, and engaging interfaces across all of our products for millions of users. You'll partner closely with design and engineering to craft interactive consumer experiences that make prediction markets more accessible, transparent, and genuinely enjoyable. This is a role for someone with taste, technical depth, and a chip on their shoulder about the quality of what they ship.

What You'll Do
  • Build and prototype. Write the code behind new UI components, animations, and interactions that elevate the product experience. Push for best practices in front-end development and performance at every step.

  • Own the design system. Drive consistency, accessibility, and performance across all of Polymarket's product surfaces by contributing to and evolving our design system.

  • Work end-to-end. Take ownership across the full product lifecycle, from early ideation through implementation and iteration, with a strong point of view at every stage.

  • Bridge design and engineering. Partner tightly with designers and engineers to define and implement experiences where the final product actually matches the vision and sometimes exceeds it.

  • Stay ahead. Keep up with emerging web technologies, interaction patterns, and design trends, and bring the best of what you find back to Polymarket.

What We're Looking For
  • 2+ years of professional experience in design engineering, front-end development, or a hybrid role that spans both

  • Strong proficiency in React, Next.js, and TypeScript, with a focus on interactions, animation, performance, and polish

  • Deep understanding of design principles: typography, layout, color, and visual hierarchy

  • Experience working with Figma, design tokens, and design systems to close the gap between design intent and production reality

  • An eye for detail that borders on obsessive. You notice things other people miss and you care about fixing them

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate design and technical decisions clearly

  • A genuine passion for markets, truth, and freedom of speech

  • (Plus) Understanding of DeFi and financial markets, a willingness to develop that understanding is a must

Benefits
  • Competitive salary & equity

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Full Health, Vision, & Dental coverage

  • 401k match

  • Hardware setup: new MacBook Pro, big display, & accessories
