The Role:

The Associate UX Researcher will be responsible for the recruitment of participants (teachers, administrators, and students) to multiple, different research studies with specific needs. You will collaborate with our Marketing, Product, and Customer Success teams to identify and recruit these participants, and will ultimately work to retain a panel of participants for ongoing UX research studies. Reporting to the Director of UX Research, you’ll work with designers and product managers, along with colleagues from our go-to-market teams, on a variety of initiatives aimed at different stages of product development. You’ll assist in a variety of tasks related to conducting UX research, including curating participants to ensure a high quality sample pool, managing participant schedules, tracking and document participant activity in our database, and assisting in report documentation for your various studies.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

As part of our growing UX research team, you’ll have the opportunity to continue developing your skills and will get to build a deep understanding of the user experience needs and goals of Newsela’s users: teachers, students, and administrators. You’ll also hone your project management skills as you coordinate across multiple teams and identify users specific to the needs of testing and validating different solutions. Your work will directly impact the experience of teachers and students nationwide, and will enable Newsela to deliver engaging, culturally responsive learning content to tens of millions of users in K-12 classrooms.

Why We’ll Love You:

You have 1-2 years of experience as in UX research, or broader product and research experience with familiarity regarding qualitative and quantitative methods. You’re experienced in working with large databases and have demonstrated success working closely with the other UX researchers to plan, recruit, and schedule potential participants for a wide range of studies. You’re an excellent communicator, who can translate complex data patterns into digestible, actionable insights that can be leveraged across a variety of audiences. You are highly organized, and able to manage calendars, timelines, scheduling details, and other logistics for multiple concurrent studies. You are in constant, proactive communication with both participants and researchers, as well as other cross-functional team members. While not required, experience managing research panels is a plus.
