Design & Photo, Production Manager
Overview
Production Manager: Design & Photo reports to the Director of Production and is responsible for managing all design and photo projects from concept to completion, obtaining proper approvals and ensuring timely delivery. The position requires high organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure and juggle multiple projects at the same time.
Responsibilities
- Project manage and oversee all phases of production for motion, print, digital and photo projects
- Review submitted creative briefs for accurate and complete content
- Manage and mentor Production Coordinators
- Manage and schedule production of all design/photo projects with the Design Director & Art Directors
- Work with photo managers/producers/editors/coordinators on a daily-basis to assign projects and manage project flows
- Develop and maintain relationships with outside vendors and freelancers
- Manage all current and completed projects using project management tools, including links to files, due dates and budgets
- Work with internal clients to ensure photos are being captured for all priority shows and talent approvals are met with the PR department
- Route all creative/materials for approval/comments in a timely manner, in the proper order, to all appropriate parties
- Preflight files to release to printers and publications ensuring that all print specs are adhered to
- Communicate clearly to design agencies and freelancers
- Responsible for I.C. & vendor contracts and invoices
- Ensure creative, internal clients and outside vendors are meeting deadlines and projects stay within budget
- Manage deliveries and schedules of Designers, Photography Manager and internal clients to ensure all assets are accounted for
- Be the point person for all design/photo project needs
Qualifications
- At least 5-7 years experience in broadcast design, cable network, or design studio with some management experience preferred.
- Expert knowledge of motion/print/photo production
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently, as well in a team situation and with clients, working under pressure, and juggling multiple stages of development are required.
