theSkimm is a membership company dedicated to helping female millennials live smarter lives. By seamlessly integrating into our members existing routines, we've become a trusted brand to more than seven million people. We're fundamentally changing the way our members consume news, consider products or services, and take action on important things happening in their lives. ABOUT THE TEAM AND ROLE

theSkimm’s design team is a group of fast-moving and creative thinkers who thrive on creating beautiful products Skimm’rs love. As we grow, we're looking to hire a temporary, contract designer to work alongside our NYC Brand Design team as we design for new marketing and sales campaigns in early 2019.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Create engaging graphic illustrations and editorial graphics, like the ones here
• Work on social media campaigns and social graphics, like the ones here
• Create display media units and advertisement campaigns
• Design for internal collateral, and marketing campaigns

WHAT WILL SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS

• Passion for great graphics and compelling storytelling
• Degree or equivalent in graphic design
• Strong illustration skills
• Strong knowledge of design standards, typography, illustration, layout, and color sense
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Reliable and able to turn work around within a quick deadline

WHAT WOULD SET YOU APART

• Already a Skimm’r, understand the brand and voice
• Good Handwriting and can render in our style
• Illustrate in our existing style
• After Effects skills
