Head of Creative Services
SUMMARY
Away is looking for a strategic, process-driven Head of Creative Services to steward and lead our full spectrum of creative communication including copy, design, web, photo, and video across varied platforms to meaningfully convey Away’s vision, voice, and product. The ideal candidate has meaningful experience successfully managing and developing creative teams and will oversee our team of creative talent—responsible for all creative output of the company, from inception to on-time completion. The Head of Creative Services will report directly to our Co-Founder and Creative Director. The role is based in our headquarters in NoHo, New York City.
SOME OF WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Oversee the creative team executing buzzworthy new concepts and campaigns across digital, print, packaging, product, retail, and more
- Manage a growing team of designers, copywriters, junior producers, and photographers. You’ll be responsible for approvals, mentoring and professional development, managing workload and resources, developing timelines, and the production of all copy, photography, graphic design, event creative, digital assets, and other brand creative
- Interface effectively with all department heads and the creative team to prioritize initiatives and optimize the internal creative process
- Facilitate effective creative brainstorms to drive and improve creative output
- Manage external resources, including vendors, photographers, retouchers, printers, freelancers, and agencies
- Be responsible for creative budget
WHO YOU ARE
- 8+ years of directly relevant experience at a creative agency, e-commerce brand, or other high-growth company
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability explain complicated initiatives in a way a wide array of people (including creatives and business owners) can understand
- Strong command of the creative process in both the traditional and digital space, including web, broadcast media, print, and video
- Proven track record of influencing, motivating and developing teams in terms of performance, engagement and skill
- Enterprise-level planning skills that account for both the big-picture and critical details
- Strategic thinker with the proven ability to execute and build scalable processes and systems
- Love to travel (but that's a given)
