The Junior Graphic Designer Role

As AlphaSights continues to grow, we’re now looking to add a talented Junior Graphic Designer to our small, but close-knit in-house design team. Based in New York and reporting into the Mid-Weight and Senior Designers, you’ll be responsible for designing and creating a wide variety of digital and print assets, as well as supporting the wider team on more strategic and tactical projects. If you are an ambitious and dynamic self-starter with a strong passion for design, a high level of creativity and a desire to bring value to your team, then we have the perfect job for you!


You’ll be responsible for:

  • Designing striking on-brand Google-Slides and Powerpoint presentations 
  • Creating engaging one-pagers, information sheets & other literature
  • Ideating and designing occasional infographics to showcase data reports & presentations 
  • Creating graphics and general content for Social Media posts
  • Providing creative input at brainstorm sessions and weekly design feedback sessions
  • Assisting the Marketing team in optimising the website, taking into account UX/UI principles  
  • Helping create motion design graphics and videos if you have the skills or are willing to learn
  • Act as an AlphaSights Brand Guardian to ensure all work is on-brand
  • Help develop our new guidelines, icons, imagery and videos to ensure all brand touchpoints are cohesive

The Marketing organisation at AlphaSights is comprised of two main functions:

  • Brand and Communications
  • Demand Generation
     

The Brand & Communications team is a multifunctional group of designers, digital marketing and communications specialists all working together to create, maintain, and communicate AlphaSights’ story and value proposition to attract clients and experts, engage employees, and appeal to talent markets. The team partners closely with every internal team to support consistent messaging, enable brand longevity, and make an objective impact on the firm. The team manages internal and external communications, digital/social marketing, service marketing, content creation, brand management, and graphic design.

You’ll work in a company of driven colleagues from around the world. We work as one global team that’s dedicated to growing our business, improving ourselves, supporting one another, and celebrating wins together. What we’re looking for

  • At least 6 months of relevant design experience gained in a commercial environment. We’ll also consider exceptional graduates with strong internship experience.
  • Expected or obtained Bachelor's degree in a design-related field, preferably graphic design or similar. 
  • Strong academic credentials and noteworthy extracurricular leadership
  • A glowing portfolio showcasing your best design work, that includes impressive layout skills and examples of brand or typography projects, good technical skills and intelligent design thinking
  • You’ll need to be a creative, inquisitive sort, bursting with ideas and have an instinctive flair for layout, typography and an eye for detail. 
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to turn complex ideas into clearly understandable visuals
  • Excellent communication skills with a natural aptitude for connecting with people
  • A resilient, positive outlook. Someone who’s not easily fazed by a sometimes hectic workplace.
  • An ambitious, quick learner with a can-do-attitude who loves to learn new things and improve themselves.

 

Technical Skills

  • Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud - Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
  • Excellent working knowledge of presentation tools such as Google Slides and PowerPoint
  • A basic understanding of After Effects, Premiere Pro, or any 3D programmes like Maya and Cinema 4D would be a plus
