Lead UX Designer for Data Visualization

Imagine designing a product that provides 90,000+ organizations with nearly 30 million workers from across the country data insights that help inform critical business decisions.

 

This is what you will do as Lead UX Designer of Data Visualization at ADP.

 

ADP DataCloud is ADP's premiere workforce analytics suite of products, providing business insights, industry benchmarks and predictions to our clients on desktop, tablet and mobile.

 

As a Lead UX Designer for Data Visualization you will use your full range of user experience design, visual design, and data visualization to craft insightful data-driven products that deal with complexity in an elegant way. You will work closely with UX Designers, User Researchers, Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Engineers to help shape the strategy and design for ADP's data product experiences. ADP DataCloud located in Parsippany, NJ and NYC.

 

Responsibilities

  • Create sophisticated and highly detailed data visualizations that tell stories that help our clients make decisions.
  • Sketch, code, mock-up, use visualization apps, or whatever else is effective at turning ideas into production ready code
  • Participate in user research, usability tests and other evaluation activities.
  • Work with engineers and data scientists to rapidly prototype and iterate on designs.
  • Define, apply, teach, and maintain a company product design language around data visualization and analysis.

 

Skills

  • Comfort with data analysis, including statistical analysis, or experience working with data scientists
  • Solid foundation in Human Factors
  • Ability to effectively communicate interactive and interface design data and design specifications and explain the rationale behind design decisions.
  • Strong skills in creative design tools including Axure, InVision, Adobe Creative Cloud and Sketch.
  • Understanding of HTML semantics, accessibility compliance, and industry standards for global enterprise web-based applications
  • Experience with Data Journalism a plus

Qualifications

 

  • 6+ years working experience as a UX|UI Designer within a large-scale consumer facing organization

  • BA Degree or higher in Interactive Design, User Interface
, Communication Design
  • Experience creating sophisticated, elegant design and a desire to help others produce the same. You know how to set goals and motivate others to reach them, and enjoy coaching and mentoring a team
  • You've shipped product: you know the challenges (and rewards!) of release cycles and how to partner across the organization at every stage, shipping quickly and at the highest level of quality
  • An exceptional design portfolio with well-thought-out interactions and interface designs across both web and mobile applications
