Discovery Golf is creating a new, innovative digital platform to deliver live content and special features that will change the way golf coverage is enjoyed.
The Role
The Discovery Golf—GOLFTV and Golf Digest—Marketing Promotion Team is looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to join a growing team.
As the Senior Graphic Designer at Discovery Golf – GOLFTV and Golf Digest, you will work across all platforms (web, mobile, broadcast and print). You will be involved with projects from start to finish and will be expected to contribute to all aspects of the creative process—including research, ideation, and visual design.
This role reports into our Director of Creative Services and will work closely with the Art Director among other designers, marketing managers and sales executives. The Senior Graphic Designer will assist the design team to promote the vision of the company through high quality graphic content for Discovery Golf— GOLFTV and Golf Digest.
Responsibilities
1. Design and produce digital collateral, landing pages, microsites, web assets (static and animated banners), environmental graphics, social media content, print communication, corporate collateral (such as business cards, letterhead and email signatures), presentations, email communications, video graphics (video editing experience a plus), and other internal or external deliverables.
2. Create and execute engaging, impactful and unique design solutions using brand assets and identity guidelines.
3. Work closely with the social media teams (GOLFTV and Golf Digest) to execute engaging, impactful and unique design solutions using brand assets and identity guidelines to increase consumer awareness. The GOLFTV social media team is made of individuals located in NYC, UK and JAPAN. Therefore, there will be times when creative needs cross-over into other time zones.
4. Collaborate with sales and marketing strategists to design presentations (both Keynote and PowerPoint), sell sheets, event materials (microsites, web banners, invitations, brochures, signage, logos) and other digital/print requests that will support the Discovery Golf brands, both GOLFTV and Golf Digest.
5. Support the Discovery Golf global events team to produce hospitality collateral for client/parent events throughout the year, including invites, welcome emails, event one sheets, clients gifts, etc.
6. Plan and direct all aspects of assigned projects and serves as an integral member of the creative team.
7. Accountable for successful execution of creative and art direction on assigned projects.
8. Work independently and check in frequently with Director of Creative Services to solve problems and keep project status updated.
9. Update brand assets and guidelines as new partners and markets join the Discovery Golf family of brands.
Requirements
* 5 to 7 years of relevant graphic design experience (preferably within an in-house design department).
* Expert-level knowledge with Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Mac required, PC a plus), including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Keynote (a plus) and After Effects (a plus).
* Solid knowledge working with PowerPoint, Word and Excel
* Knowledge of front-end web design using HTML and CSS, and/or web animation experience (a plus).
* Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
* Exceptional conceptual and problem-solving skills.
* Experience in advertising, marketing, corporate identity, brand management, sales promotion, and/or new media communication.
* Possess a strong knowledge of the creative development process, have excellent art direction skills, and consistently deliver superior design.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field or equivalent experience.
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
