About The Job 

Vault is looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our rapidly growing company in its earliest stages. The ideal candidate is passionate about seamless customer experiences, can quickly apply their experience and craftsmanship with a broad range of design efforts, and is a design leader known for delivering impressive results. As Vault’s first full-time design hire, you will have the opportunity to drive all of Vault’s product design projects. You will lead our efforts to blend modern UI and UX with the practice of medicine across our suite of web and mobile products in order to elevate the patient, doctor, and operations team experiences.

To succeed in the role, you must be highly creative, detail-oriented, and excited for the prospect of an ongoing parade of rapid design challenges. You have experience balancing a standard of excellence with moving fast. You must be adept at tackling a variety of design projects (often at the same time). You have a customer-first mindset, a finely-tuned sense of urgency, and a reputation for keeping the bar high. 


What You Will Do: 

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering leaders to drive product design projects through their full lifecycle including research, design, development and release 
  • Apply and evolve our brand style guide to meet the needs of our growing product suite
  • Use conversion metrics, data dashboards and user research to advocate for your customers and guide design thought processes 
  • Transform high-level flows and wireframes into fully fleshed out engineering-ready mockups.
  • Brainstorm and collaborate to develop new product experiences and features
  • Conduct design QA and acceptance testing for product releases
  • Uphold high standards for visual and interaction design and evolve our existing design system
  • Contribute to our offline experiences (packaging, office design, etc…) as needed for ad-hoc projects

You Have:

  • > 5 years experience as a product or UX designer. 
  • A stellar portfolio that shows the breadth and depth of your skills and experience.
  • A proven record of shipping successful digital consumer products.
  • Fluency in Figma/Sketch and the Adobe Suite.
  • Good taste. You can recognize and create things that look good and are a pleasure to use. 
  • A high bar for craftsmanship. The little things matter to you, and it shows in your work. 
  • Fast lo-fi and hi-fi prototyping skills. You know how to hand off engineering-ready designs 
  • Familiarity with the engineering lifecycle and process for digital product development.
  • Experience designing and/or sourcing graphical assets. 
  • Communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional partners. You can clearly communicate design decisions and solicit feedback.
  • Organization skills, self-motivation, and accountability.
  • Optimism and grit.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience working at a startup
  • Experience with graphic, print, or brand design
  • Experience in the digital healthcare space or with men’s products
  • Experience in user research
