UX research is the systematic investigation of users and their requirements, in order to add context and insight into the process of designing the user experience. UX research employs a variety of techniques, tools, and methodologies to reach conclusions, determine facts and uncover problems. With this information at hand, the Freshly Product and Design teams will be able to develop a deep understanding of our users and their respective workflows. This will then reveal valuable information which can be fed into the design and product processes along with creating a tight feedback loop to allow for the systematic evaluation of all delivered end user functionality.

Key questions that will drive day to day focus:

What are the top problems that are causing friction with the users process to having a satisfactory experience and receiving their meals?

What are other areas of opportunity for us to explore?

Responsibilities:

• Running usability tests to see how users interact with the current system.
• Developing user surveys to get information from potential users.
• Undertaking heuristic and expert audits of systems.
• Shadowing users to see how they interact with the systems and under what context.
• Documenting Customer Journeys, Top Tasks, and other deliverables that will support the design and development of the system.

Outcomes:

• The UX researcher will evaluate all the features contributing to the user experience, providing expertise, collaborating internally and occasionally leading projects.
• The UX researcher will introduce new processes centered around user discovery and identify product and user requirements geared towards solving the most challenging aspects of the Freshly platform.
• The UX researcher will bridge the gap between product, design, engineering and our users through the development of a thorough validation processes.

About You:

• 7+ years within a UX research role.
• MA/MS degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Cognitive Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices.
• Bring experience conducting usability studies, moderating sessions, and communicating insights
• Have a passion for thoughtful and creative design.
