You'll work on web, mobile, and in-vehicle platforms, applying strong interaction and visual design skills while collaborating closely with peers in product and engineering.
You'll be expected to deliver thoughtful, production-ready design work within established directions and help maintain the integrity of GM's design system. This role is ideal for designers who have mastered the core principles of interaction and visual design and are ready to apply them in a large-scale, cross-functional environment.
What You'll Do
  • Execute interface and interaction designs that align with product goals and user needs.
  • Translate design requirements into clear, high-fidelity deliverables using GM's design system.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to ensure implementation quality and intent.
  • Participate actively in critiques and reviews, contributing to a culture of feedback and shared learning.
  • Document design patterns and maintain up-to-date specifications for development.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • 3-5 years of professional experience designing digital products for web, mobile, or similar platforms.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong visual and interaction design skills with real-world impact.
  • Proficiency in Figma and familiarity with collaborative workflows.
  • Understanding of user-centered design principles, responsive frameworks, and accessibility.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to partner across disciplines.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Degree in Design, HCI, or related field.
  • Experience in designing digital products, mobile apps, ecommerce platforms, and cross-channel experiences.
  • Deep expertise in product design with a strong foundation in UX principles, usability heuristics, and customer-centric design thinking.
  • Experience designing for complex commerce platforms, including both net-new features and iterative improvements based on user data and business insights.
  • Ability to elevate the overall UX quality of digital products through strategic design decisions, industry best practices, and a strong sense of visual and interaction design.
  • Skilled in leveraging qualitative and quantitative research to inform design direction and optimize user flows for conversion, retention, and engagement.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in fast-paced environments, especially when evolving legacy systems or launching new ecommerce capabilities.
