Position

MIO’s Portfolio Analytics Group is seeking a Developer to own, evolve, and expand the systems for ingesting and quality controlling our manager data.  The new hire will be part of a small team of professionals focused on understanding the global landscape of investment managers, enabling MIO’s evaluation and selection of managers, and the ongoing monitoring and how those managers perform.      

The successful candidate will work directly with data analysts, technologists, investors, and partner teams to build robust solutions to our data needs.  In addition, this individual will own the tools, standards and best practices analysts employ in building new system components.  As a leader in this space, this role will help shape the vision for how we effectively and efficiently solve problems in the data and attribution space.   

Primary responsibilities 

  • Own and evolve manager data ingestion, cleaning, and validation systems
  • Own and evolve data engineering standards for the Data and Reporting Team
  • Drive efficiency on the team through platform improvements, new technology adoption and team training
  • Improve the efficiency and clarity of the performance attribution systems   

Desired Background

  • A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline
  • 3+ years of experience engineering data solutions to business
  • Proficient in Python and SQL
  • Proficient in data management principles and best practices
  • Practical understanding of system and workflow design
  • Experience with agentic coding (eg. Claude Code, Cursor) and using AI for task automation[AA4.1][JA4.2]
  • Experience with investment management data and reporting
  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders 
  • Strong client relationship management skills and excellent written/verbal communication skills to interact at all levels 
  • Formal problem-solving and/or analytical training/experience a plus

Certain US states require MIO Partners, Inc. to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to an individual’s assigned office location, experience, and expertise. Certain roles are also eligible for bonuses, subject to MIO’s discretion and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance. Additionally, MIO offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental and vision coverage, telemedicine services, life, accident and disability insurance, parental leave and family planning benefits, caregiving resources, a generous retirement program, financial guidance, and paid time off.

Base salary range
$120,000—$120,000 USD
