The Developer Relations Lead at Extend will engage with developers, create impactful content, drive product adoption, and shape the developer experience while representing the company in various forums.
The summary above was generated by AI

Extend is the complete document processing toolkit. We’re on a mission to transform how the world works with unstructured data.

We’re looking for a Developer Relations Lead who can make Extend the name developers think of when they think “document AI.” You’ll be the bridge between our engineering community and the product—creating content, conversations, and communities that make developers love Extend.

This is not a behind-the-scenes role. You’ll be the public face of Extend for the developer world—writing, speaking, posting, and creating programs that drive adoption and advocacy.

Why You Should Consider Joining
  • We’ve grown revenue 15x last year to several million ARR, with growth continuing to accelerate

  • Our product is used in mission-critical flows at companies like Square, Zillow, Chime, Brex, Mercury, and Checkr

  • The market for document processing has exploded 1000x due to LLMs—and all existing solutions are low NPS

  • We’ve raised our Series A and de-risked the business, but the upside is massive—now’s the perfect time to join

Role & Impact

Your job: make developers care about Extend—and tell others why they do.

  • Be the community voice. Engage with developers on X, LinkedIn, GitHub, and Discord. Answer questions, surface feedback, and turn every interaction into a conversation that matters.

  • Create content that spreads. Write threads, posts, blogs, videos, and tutorials that actually get shared. Translate technical depth into clarity and wit.

  • Engineer Virality. You understand how to resonate with developer culture— from tech Twitter memes and guerrilla marketing to meaningful long-form thought leadership.

  • Drive product adoption. Build sample apps, walkthroughs, and SDK demos that help the next 100 developers fall in love with Extend.

  • Shape the developer experience. Work with Product and Engineering to improve docs, SDKs, and onboarding based on community feedback.

  • Represent Extend in person. Attend and speak at conferences, hackathons, and AMAs. Host events, run merch drops, and lead guerrilla campaigns that turn heads.

  • Growth hack the ecosystem. Launch unconventional programs — from pizza-box stunts to mini-conferences — that make Extend impossible to ignore.

Ideal Candidate Credentials
  • You’ve built a following or shipped content that developers genuinely love

  • You just get X/Twitter, LinkedIn, GitHub, and Hacker News — not just as platforms, but as subcultures

  • You’ve written or created technical content that was widely shared or drove measurable engagement

  • You’re as comfortable on camera or stage as you are writing docs or code

  • You have a strong sense of taste in developer tools — you know what resonates and what feels forced

  • You think like a founder: resourceful, fast, and creative with limited structure

  • You have opinions on what makes a great developer experience and aren’t afraid to share them

  • Portfolio over pedigree — share posts, threads, videos, or examples of work that made people stop scrolling

Why This Role Matters

Extend’s core users are developers — engineers, ML teams, and builders who value authenticity and depth.

This is an opportunity to have full ownership around building a generational tech brand and voice. This role exists to ensure we never sound like marketing to them. You’ll define the voice, tone, and touchpoints that make Extend the brand developers trust.
