Caterpillar Inc. seeks Digital Project Manager/Data Governance Specialist at its facility located at 5205 N. O'Connor Blvd, Irving, TX 75039. Analyze business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to analysts and decision makers. Identify analytical methods and business acumen to guide cross-functional teams in the chartering and execution of work. Serve as the principal communicator with clients and interpret trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences. Create specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements. May participate in cross-functional teams to address business issues. Prototype solutions for displaying information based on business needs. Lead 4-6 projects per year. Acting as part of a team to support and lead projects in an individual contributor capacity. Works on complex and highly visible projects. Act as part of the data team working on specific verticals. Supports the strategic insights manager on the planning and execution of strategies for strategic insights. Present insight outputs to senior leaders and advisors, understand segment strategy, and dollarize enterprise benefits. Work as a member of the strategy and governance team to manage the project charter, team and stakeholder communications, and the overall project plan and budget. Incorporate knowledge of and internal stakeholders regarding project status. Work as a member of the strategy and governance team to manage a large portfolio/program composed of 3+ projects. REQS: This position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Management, Engineering or a related field plus 5 years of experience designing & prototyping dynamic views and visualization for large, complex data sets in Power BI/Tableau. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Data structures using SQL, Devops, excel, Alteryx, and snowflake; (2) Data analytics with different complex data sources such as MDW, EDS, Cognos, BPC and cleaning, converting and automating the data into Snowflake; (3) Analyzing data in Power BI Platform and application to address business issues such as Dealer Inventory, sales and shipments; and (4) Project management portfolio experience including requirements gathering, and risk management through visualizing insights.
