Hearst Television is seeking a Digital Solutions Strategist. The Digital Solutions Strategist is a pre-sale leader embedded within local station teams, responsible for strategic media planning and driving revenue across all digital platforms. This role is equal parts sales partner, platform expert, and business strategist—reporting into the Sr Director, Digital Solutions and working closely with Account Executives, Digital Sales Managers, agencies, and advertisers to develop solutions that meet client objectives and grow digital revenue.
Strategists support revenue attainment by bringing innovative digital strategies and data-informed recommendations into the sales process. They are fluent in Hearst’s digital ad offerings and core platforms and present directly to internal and external stakeholders. They stay current on platform capabilities, competitive positioning, and digital marketing trends—and are responsible for sharing that knowledge in-market, with sellers, and with clients. This is a consultative, forward-facing role that helps shape Hearst Television’s digital presence in the market while equipping our sellers with the insights, strategies, and media plans needed to win business and attain digital budgets.

This role requires in-office presence. Candidates may be considered for this role in New York, Fort Myers, Boston, Orlando, Kansas City and/or any Hearst Television location.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop pre-sale digital media strategies and multi-product proposals in partnership with AEs and DSMs
  • Shape campaign recommendations across display, video, OTT, social, native, and emerging products
  • Act as a consultative voice in pre-sale meetings with AEs, clients, and agencies, providing thought leadership on campaign structure, product fit, and platform best practices
  • Present digital solutions in advertiser and agency meetings as the subject matter expert
  • Keep up to date on industry trends, vendor innovation, and competitive market shifts to inform strategy and content
  • Deliver product education and platform trainings to local sales teams; own internal enablement within assigned stations
  • Collaborate with internal teams on strategic inputs for vertical decks, case studies, and pitch collateral
  • Support strategic media planning across key accounts and station-specific revenue initiatives
  • Actively monitor digital advertiser and revenue retention across assigned stations, problem solving to reduce churn and drive new business

Requirements:

  • 4–6+ years of experience in digital media planning, solutions strategy, or agency planning/sales
  • Strong understanding of the digital ecosystem (Display, Video, OTT, SEO/SEM, Social, Programmatic, etc.)

  • Proven track record of supporting revenue attainment and building advertiser trust through consultative selling
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable client-facing in virtual or in-person settings
  • Experience building full-funnel media strategies that align with advertiser goals
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Google Analytics and proposal automation tools; familiarity with pacing and reporting dashboards
  • Digital ad certification in platforms (e.g., DV360, Meta Blueprint, Publica, etc.) is preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated experience with sales enablement and product positioning, using research and data to back-up recommendations
