POSITION PURPOSE:
The Direct Lending Senior Associate is responsible for underwriting, executing, and monitoring middle and lower-middle-market loan facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead deal teams in the underwriting, documentation, & closing of investment opportunities.
  • Analyze potential investment opportunities and present written analysis and recommendations on individual credits.
  • Monitor portfolio credits including performing periodic and recurring portfolio reviews and updates.
  • Lead amendment discussions, negotiations and internal approval processes.
  • Attend board meetings and management calls of assigned portfolio companies.
  • Train and develop analysts and associates.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)

  • 3-6 years’ experience in private credit, banking, investment banking or private equity.
  • Proven track record of underwriting cash flow loans.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Quantitative proficiency.

COMMUNICATION SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to analyze and interpret business documents, technical materials, financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to lead diligence discussions with borrowers, sponsors and co-lenders.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on investment opportunities or portfolio situations to Investment Committee and other senior management.
  • Ability to organize effective written communication, adapted to various audience styles. 

At OFS, base pay is one part of the total compensation package. This role is eligible for bonus pay in addition to base salary. Actual base salary considers several factors, including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. At CIM, base pay is one part of the total compensation package. This role is eligible for bonus pay in addition to base salary. The anticipated base salary range for the position in New York, NY is $135,000 - $185,000.
