The Emerging Verticals team is dedicated to managing merchant relationships and driving growth in underpenetrated areas. As the Director of Account Management, you will play a vital role in broadening Mastercard's acceptance and solutions among key merchants, encompassing Data and Services, Cyber and Intelligence, Open Banking, and digital offerings. Your responsibilities will include managing a portfolio of business and seeking new merchant opportunities. This role is ideal for individuals who excel in building relationships, sales, and negotiation in a cross-functional environment.
Role:
- Drive business development for assigned prospects and accounts, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Utilize data analytics and competitive analysis to evaluate customers' existing business and recommend additional revenue opportunities.
- Collaborate with Finance partners to create financial models and business cases for identified opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a sales pipeline, leveraging all available resources in coordination with the product development and account management teams.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to sell new products to existing customers.
- Work with a virtual team of Mastercard subject matter experts to strategically communicate value propositions and secure new business opportunities.
- Become a subject matter expert in your vertical, serving as a trusted payments advisor to clients and a thought leader within Mastercard.
- Oversee administrative and operational issues for assigned business development opportunities, including planning, reporting, budget, and expense management.
- Negotiate, execute, and manage customer agreements in collaboration with Finance, Account Teams, and Legal, ensuring timely execution.
- Lead a communication platform with all business partners to share key updates such as training courses, regional conferences, important bulletins, and the latest Mastercard product offerings.
- Assist in organizing and coordinating customer events and functions.

- Strong experience in sales and account management with a proven track record of generating revenue.
- Experience in the payments industry.
- Experience with Insurance, Property Management and/or Government is a plus.
