Job Summary & ResponsibilitiesOverview:

Bessemer Trust is seeking a thoughtful professional with a client facing and generalist private markets investment background to join its team.  The position will be part of a small team at a leading multifamily office with a legacy of top-tier client service. The professional will work closely with the Head of Alternatives Advisory and other colleagues to develop and implement investment solutions for clients. 

 

This senior-level role will help lead the expansion of Bessemer’s private markets investment platform, complementing and enhancing our core offering to better serve clients’ evolving needs by providing access to compelling private investment opportunities across various asset classes. The individual will also serve as a dedicated resource to clients and advisors, representing the platform and its capabilities.  This role requires strong communication and client-facing skills, deep expertise in private market investments, and a commitment to collaboration across departments at Bessemer Trust. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 10-15 years of experience, a history of thoughtful investment research, and a passion for helping clients achieve their long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Head of Alternatives Advisory to enhance and execute on strategy, ensuring alignment with firm culture, investment department and firm strategy and client objectives.
  • Continuously enhance the advisory platform, incorporating best practices, market trends, and feedback from stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted subject matter expert to clients and client advisor teams on private market opportunities.
  • Actively participate in client and prospect meetings, contributing investment insights, identifying investment objectives and goals, and strengthening client engagement.
  • Support the development of customized investment recommendations through high-quality manager research and ongoing monitoring of client portfolios.
  • Help oversee existing Advisory manager relationships by participating in regular updates and assessing results through performance and attribution analysis.
  • Maintain robust knowledge of market developments, emerging strategies, and key industry players.
  • Enhance tools that support liquidity management of private market portfolios.
  • Participate in special projects related to investment and technology infrastructure as needed.
  • Provide thought leadership within the Investment Department.
Qualifications:
  • Unimpeachable ethics with the highest level of integrity, discretion, and commitment.
  • Entrepreneurial nature with a high degree of intellectual curiosity.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of investment research, manager selection, and portfolio oversight.
  • Proven experience advising high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, family offices, or institutional investors.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable interacting with sophisticated clients and senior stakeholders of Bessemer Trust.
  • Knowledge of investment and financial theory, asset allocation, risk management, portfolio construction and a desire to learn about advanced wealth planning techniques.
  • Extensive network within the family office and wealth management ecosystem.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently and drive projects to completion.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA and/or CFA preferred.

The base salary range for this position is $260,000 - $300,000 per year. This range reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. In addition, this position may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, and other compensation programs as applicable. Eligible employees may participate in a 401(k) program with a generous profit-sharing contribution, medical, prescription dental, and vision coverage; life insurance; disability coverage; paid holidays; vacation; and sick time, subject to plan terms and Company policies.
