About Scale:

For the past 12 years, Scale Media has been building and scaling science-backed wellness brands. Our portfolio of brands, including Live Conscious, 1MD, and Essential Elements, has grown to 9 figures in revenue while operating profitably with no external funding.

Our team is made up of operators, marketers, and builders focused on products consumers actually trust. We're investing heavily in data and AI to sharpen how we develop products and scale brands.

We believe the best decisions come from data, curiosity, and continuous learning. We value high ownership, candid feedback, and thoughtful execution. As a fully remote company, we lead with clear communication, accountability, and trust, and we give people real room to grow and make an impact.

Scale Media has been recognized as one of Forbes' Best Startup Employers, a Great Place to Work, an Inc. Best Workplace, and an Inc. 5000 company.

If you take ownership, think for yourself, and like solving hard problems alongside people who do the same, you'll fit right in.

The Role

We are hiring a Director of Analytics to lead and scale the data and analytics function across Scale Media. Reporting to Leila Tovbina, VP of Growth, this senior leadership role owns our end-to-end analytics strategy — spanning marketing measurement, financial forecasting, retention, and inventory analytics — and turns data into decisions across marketing, growth, finance, and operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role at a marketing-driven DTC business. You'll set the vision for how Scale measures and grows its brands: how we quantify marketing incrementality, forecast the business, model unit economics, and predict customer value. You'll lead our analytics organization, including direct management of our Manager, Data Analytics, and you'll define and oversee the data engineering roadmap that our analytics depend on. Above all, you'll be obsessed with data accuracy and consistency — the foundation everything else is built on.

What You Will Do:

  • Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and own Scale's companywide analytics strategy, aligned with overall business goals.
    • Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional departments to understand their data needs and ensure analytics solutions support their objectives.
    • Identify opportunities to leverage data, AI, and predictive analytics to improve business performance and decision-making.
  • Marketing Analytics & Measurement:
    • Own Scale's marketing measurement framework, including experimentation design (lift/geo testing), incrementality, MMM, and MTA, and the statistical methodologies that underpin them.
    • Build and maintain retention analytics and LTV models, including churn and contribution-margin prediction.
    • Manage the marketing data pipeline end to end, ensuring channel data is complete, accurate, and analysis-ready.
    • Bring deep familiarity with paid and owned marketing channels and their associated metrics and analytical approaches.
  • Financial Analytics & Forecasting:
    • Build and own financial forecasts for a marketing-driven business.
    • Model unit economics (CAC, LTV, payback, margin) and set marketing targets grounded in those economics and our growth goals.
    • Partner with finance and growth to connect spend, revenue, and profitability into a single, trustworthy view.
  • Team Leadership & Data Engineering Oversight:
    • Lead, manage, and mentor the analytics organization, including direct management of our Manager, Data Analytics, and indirect oversight of the broader analyst team.
    • Define and oversee the data engineering roadmap, setting priorities and standards for the pipelines and infrastructure that power our analytics.
    • Set clear goals, priorities, and professional development plans for the team, fostering a data-driven and collaborative culture.
    • Provide guidance on best practices, methodologies, data structure, and tooling across the function.
  • Data Architecture & Advanced Analytics:
    • Own our data architecture, working across our data warehouse (e.g., Snowflake) and source systems (e.g., Shopify, Amazon) to ensure data is accurate, reliable, and well-structured.
    • Apply statistical methods, machine learning, and predictive modeling to generate forward-looking insights.
    • Implement and maintain the analytics tools and platforms that support data-driven decision-making company-wide.
  • Reporting & Visualization:
    • Develop and deliver regular companywide reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) for executive leadership.
    • Design and build dashboards and visualizations (e.g., Tableau, Sigma) that translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
    • Establish reporting frameworks that ensure data accuracy and consistency across the business, including some inventory and operations analytics.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution:
    • Partner with marketing, growth, finance, IT, and operations to translate business questions into data solutions.
    • Communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership in a clear, compelling manner.
    • Run the function in sprints, with tight project management and clear prioritization against quarterly goals.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in data analytics, with progressive leadership experience managing analytics teams, including managing managers.
  • Proven track record owning end-to-end analytics for a marketing-driven or DTC/ecommerce business.
  • Deep expertise in marketing measurement — experimentation, incrementality, MMM, and MTA — and the statistics behind them.
  • Experience with retention analytics, LTV modeling, and churn/contribution-margin prediction.
  • Financial forecasting and unit-economics modeling experience, including setting marketing targets from unit economics and growth goals.
  • Strong hands-on technical skills: SQL and Python, data modeling, and ML/predictive modeling.
  • Fluency with Claude Code (or comparable AI coding tools) for data manipulation and analytics.
  • Experience with a modern data stack (e.g., Snowflake) and DTC source data (e.g., Shopify, Amazon).
  • Experience maintaining a BI platform and designing dashboards and visualizations (e.g., Tableau, Sigma).
  • Experience defining a data engineering roadmap and partnering with or overseeing data engineers.
  • An obsession with data accuracy and consistency.
  • Experience partnering with executive stakeholders to translate data into business strategy.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working in sprints with strong project management discipline.

What Makes You a Fit

  • Strategic thinker who can also roll up their sleeves and execute
  • Data-driven and technical, with an AI-first approach
  • Strong people leader who builds, mentors, and grows talent
  • High degree of ownership and a self-starter mentality
  • Excellent cross-functional communicator who can influence at the executive level
  • Comfortable operating and prioritizing in a fast-paced, fully remote environment

Reporting Structure

You will report directly to Leila Tovbina, VP Growth, and lead our analytics organization, including direct management of our Manager, Data Analytics, indirect oversight of the broader analyst team, and ownership of the data engineering roadmap.

What We Offer:

  • Salary: $180,000 - $220,000 depending on experience
  • Excellent Medical, Dental, Vision and Life insurance
  • Fully remote, full-time position
  • Monthly WFH stipend
  • Generous Paid Time Off program
  • Discounted Products
  • An amazing team to work alongside
