Director of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Swayable and parent company Worldview Incorporated is looking for an exceptional hands-on AI / LLM / deep learning hacker to join its team of AI engineers and data scientists as Director of AI.

Founded in 2018 by physics PhDs, it is led by the former Executive Director for Digital Strategy at the New York Times. Clients include major consumer-facing brands (American Express, Airbnb, Paramount Pictures), technology companies (Anthropic, Meta, Amazon), academic researchers (MIT, Yale, Stanford) and mission-aligned civic advocacy campaigns (e.g. on climate, human rights and elections).

About the Role
The Director of AI will be a builder, researcher, developer and thought-partner to the Swayable CEO and CTO. Their job will be to discover, prototype and prove out the highest-value applications of cutting-edge AI across business operations, product and fundamental research.
This is a unique opportunity to take advantage of unique resources to advance the leading edge of applied AI. Those resources include the world’s largest dataset of RCT survey experiment results, an established team of top software engineers and scientists, academic partnerships, and a direct line into existing enterprise customers so that prototypes can be quickly ramped up into in-market products.
About You
You have a very up-to-date background in AI including active development, deployment and/or fine-tuning of large language models, experimentation with multi-agent systems, and clear perspectives on the bounds around what is known vs unknown, and what each approach is good at versus not yet good at. Credentials are less important than direct evidence of extraordinary ability, and being tapped into the latest development in the field, up to the minute.

Base salary range of $165-205K depending on location and experience
