We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Business Development & Strategic Partnerships to lead partnership origination and development efforts for Advisor Match. We envision a successful Director of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships as someone who exemplifies proactiveness, strategic and analytical thinking, as well as entrepreneurial spirit.

What makes this opportunity especially exciting? BNY Advisor Match is a strategic opportunity for BNY to build a digital referral program that will capture a share of the massive $80T wealth transfer over the coming decade. It is a new service designed to connect investors with financial advisors through trusted referral channels, enterprise partnerships, and digital experiences.

As BNY scales Advisor Match, a critical priority is building a diversified, high-quality pipeline of demand through strategic partnerships. This includes relationships across financial services, workplace and benefits providers, platforms, and adjacent industries that can serve as consistent sources of qualified client introductions. This role will focus on identifying, shaping, and activating these partnerships—translating market opportunities into structured, scalable growth channels for the platform.

We look forward to sharing this front-foot, opportunity creation role focused on building, signing, and activating a high-quality pipeline of strategic partners. Reporting to the Senior Director, Head of Advisor Growth & Solutions, we're adding to a dynamic and innovative team. This role is located in New York, NY or in Jersey City, NJ.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

Partnership Strategy & Relationship Management

  • Own Strategic Partner Relationships: Establish key partner contacts, building long-term, trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Develop Partnership Strategy: Define how each partnership creates value—across client acquisition, engagement, and economics—aligned to Advisor Match growth priorities
  • Drive Value Realization: Ensure partnerships deliver measurable outcomes (e.g., lead volume, conversion, revenue). Monitor performance and continuously optimize based on data and insights
  • Joint Planning & Go-to-Market: Collaborate with partners to define joint go-to-market strategies, activation plans, and ongoing engagement models
  • Partner Segmentation & Prioritization: Assess and prioritize partnerships based on strategic fit, scalability, and performance—informing where to double down or pivot
  • Executive Relationship Management: Engage and influence senior stakeholders internally and externally to advance partnerships and unlock new opportunities

Business Development

  • Sign Partners: Identify, engage, and drive deal closure for strategic B2B2C partnerships across industries. Focus on sourcing high-quality, scalable demand channels aligned to Advisor Match priorities
  • Maintain Pitch Library: Ensure pitch materials are current, structured, and aligned to evolving partnership strategies. Continuously refine messaging based on market insights, partner feedback, and product capabilities
  • Prepare Pitches: Develop tailored, insight-driven pitches for prospective partners. Clearly articulate the value proposition, economics, and strategic rationale in a way that resonates with senior external stakeholders
  • Support Research Activities: Conduct structured market, partner, and competitive research to identify new opportunities, inform targeting, and support development of partnership theses
  • Contract Execution: Support structuring, negotiation, and execution of partnership agreements in coordination with Legal, Risk, and Compliance. Ensure alignment on commercial terms, incentives, and long-term value creation
  • Client Onboarding: Facilitate onboarding and activation of new partners, ensuring a smooth transition from deal to execution and a strong early-stage experience

Deal Flow Management & Reporting

  • Manage Deal Flow: Maintain accurate, real-time visibility into pipeline activity across leads, prospects, and closed deals using CRM systems
  • Manage Deal Flow Status: Actively track deal progression, identify bottlenecks or risks, and take action to maintain momentum across the pipeline
  • Pipeline Strategy & Prioritization: Evaluate and prioritize opportunities based on strategic value, feasibility, and expected impact
  • Generate Reporting: Develop regular reporting on pipeline health, deal progress, and key KPIs to support transparency and decision-making
  • Provide Insights: Translate pipeline data and market signals into actionable insights and recommendations to inform strategy and focus areas

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Team Members: Partner closely with Product, Go-to-Market, Commercial, Legal, Risk, and other teams to align on priorities, shape partnership approaches, and support execution
  • Perform Intermediary: Act as a liaison between external partners and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the deal lifecycle
  • Drive Internal Alignment: Align stakeholders around partnership strategy, deal structure, and execution plans—balancing strategic ambition with operational feasibility
  • Support Execution & Activation: Ensure partnerships are successfully implemented, working across teams to translate strategy into tangible outcomes

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
